Fisherman’s Camp Naivasha is situated on the shores of Lake Naivasha, within the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. The camp is 20 km along the South Lake Road from Naivasha Town and 2 hour’s drive from Nairobi. Fisherman’s Camp on the shores of Lake Naivasha extends from a beautiful canopy of acacia trees up into the hills, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding areas.
A great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, relax by the lake, or set yourself up for an amazing Kenyan adventure! Fisherman’s is also home to the fantastic Rift Valley Festival – a gathering of local and international music artists, combining traditional African roots and global styles.





Fisherman’s Camp is situated on two levels, with a range of accommodation options to suit a variety of budgets. Bottom Camp offers camping, banda (small chalets), and dormitory accommodation, which is set on the beautiful green lawns at the water’s edge.
Top Camp sits above South Lake Road and has a number of cottages to suit a range of budgets, all with a veranda overlooking the Lake. Lavatory facilities are shared. The camp overlooks Lake Naivasha, offering breathtaking views of the Aberdare Mountains.
The Fisherman’s Bar overlooks the campground and offers a wide variety of meals. The bar and restaurant is a place to relax and enjoy a cold drink whilst watching the black-and-white colobus monkeys or the changing colors of the lake. Fisherman’s well-known and well-reputed restaurant has a selection of delicious dishes to suit all tastes.
Some of our best sellers are Swahili fish and crayfish, Chicken in a BBQ sauce, Crispy whole fried tilapia in garlic and ginger, Swahili Red beans cooked in coconut and tamarind, traditional ugali, and tasty local Pepper steaks to a hearty fry-up, not to mention a cold Tusker beer or honey Dawa cocktail as you watch the sun go down.
Fisherman’s Camp Naivasha also has soups, burgers, vegetarian meals, salads, and a range of traditional Kenyan dishes. Desserts include the ever-popular Amarula cheesecake and Sticky chocolate cake. Breakfast and snacks are served all day. The camp is happy to cater group meals and has a range of options at very reasonable prices.

Fisherman’s provides all the luxuries to make your camping as comfortable as possible, with tents and mattresses available for hire. All you need is to turn up, a piping hot shower awaits your arrival, and clean flushing toilets. The camp is within an electric fence, which keeps hippos at a safe viewing distance.
Activities available are boat rides, fishing, horse riding, bird watching, rock climbing, mountain biking, walking safaris, and canoeing/rafting. There is an on-site swimming pool, barbecue facilities, and laundry facilities available on request.

Bottom Camp (Fisherman’s Camp)
Bottom Camp, on the shores of Lake Naivasha, is a beautiful campground shaded by acacia trees, which host a wide variety of wildlife, including our resident colobus monkeys, lovebirds, African Fish Eagles, and the occasional marabou stork.
You can even watch hippos grazing at dusk from your tent – don’t worry, an electric fence deters them from venturing into the main camp! Tents can be hired on request, and we have 4 rustic bandas (chalets) with a toilet and a hot shower, plus a fully equipped cottage if you prefer more comfort.
Top Camp (Fisherman’s Camp)
Top Camp sits above South Lake Road and overlooks Lake Naivasha, offering breathtaking views of the Aberdare Mountains. We have a number of cottages to suit a range of budgets, all with a veranda overlooking the Lake.
Whilst staying at Top Camp (Fisherman’s Camp), you have access to a range of exciting adventures just on our doorstep. We provide transportation and guides for all the best local activities. Lake Naivasha and its surrounding area have an amazing range of activities on offer within easy reach of Fisherman’s Camp. Hell’s Gate and Longonot National Parks, Crater Lake, and Crescent Island game sanctuaries all offer wonderful opportunities to see wildlife on foot, by bike, or by vehicle.
If you plan to stay for a while, Lake Nakuru and Lake Elementaita, and the Mau and Aberdare Mountains are all within easy day trips. Fisherman’s Camp itself has a wealth of wildlife and beautiful scenery that can easily fill a relaxing day.
During your stay, day trips and activities can include:
