This was where the Flying Doctor Anne Spoerry resided from the late 1960s while preparing for her medical expeditions. It has two suites and is connected to Betty’s suite and Garden House.

Mama Daktari and Betty’s suite share the same stair case. Betty’s suite is on the 1st floor and Mama Daktari is on 2nd and 3rd floor.

Each spacious room is fitted with a full length window, an ornate lampshade, a wardrobe, a TV with a satellite reception, an air conditioner and designed with an en-suite bathroom.

The master bedroom is the highest point of the house with an outstanding view to the channel.

Forodhani House Shella Beach Lamu Island is a beach front holiday house situated at the beginning of Shella Beach, 3.5 kilometers from the 18th Century Swahili House Museum.

Shella Beach is 12 kilometers long pristine white sand beach in the Island of Lamu. The Lamu Archipelago is located 470 km's southeast of Nairobi, in the Indian Ocean.

The large whitewashed building with a unique location directly on the beach is built in authentic Swahili style.

The 4 leveled house features antique furniture, carved teak front door, or niches and hand-carved friezes in  every room, woven carpets and old chests.

There are 5 en-suite bedrooms that can comfortably accommodate 10-13 guests. The bedrooms comprise of 3 double rooms, 1 triple, room and 1double room with an extra single bed.

The ground floor features a double room, well equipped kitchen, corridor pool, dining area on a covered terrace, galleries and terraces and main lounge with sofas.

The first floor has 1 triple room, 1 double room with a large baraza area on its private terrace and  study bedroom with a library, and an en suite bathroom.

The second floor has the master bedroom with a drawing room, and one private covered terrace and another open one. There is also a lounge area with a baraza bed where a guest can relax.

The third floor is huge open terrace, with cushions, mattresses, lanterns, which allows you to see the entire archipelago. This is an ideal place for  dinner, coffee or drinks and under stars and moon.

Fatumas Tower Guest House Shela Village Lamu Island is located on the fishing village of Shela on the island of Lamu.

Lamu is 100 kilometers north of Mombasa. Shela Village lies at the end of an untouched 12km beach on Lamu Island.

The 10-bedroom garden retreat is named after Fatuma Abu Bakar a Swahili noblewoman who lived in the sanctuary attended by five female slaves until the end of the 19th century.

The accommodation consists of 3 separate buildings; the Tower (5 rooms), the Sandcastle (3 rooms) and the Garden Cottage (2 rooms), all with solar powered hot water, fans and mosquito nets.

The rooms and suites all come with a terrace and Swahili-style furnishings. The Acacia suite has rooftop has a covered verandah and sun deck as well as a thatched roof.

The balcony room is air conditioned and has its own verandah, kitchen and small dining area.

This room has colorful elements of Arabic architecture and traditional cushioned seated areas, known locally as barazza.

The Top Apartment comprises two rooms that share a verandah and each has a small annex attached and large en-suite bathrooms.

Bamboo room is on the rooftop of the Garden Cottage. The thatched roof over bedroom, bathroom and a verandah with open sundeck.

Heron room features a sitting room on the ground floor of the Garden Cottage. There is  seating area with an outside garden and outdoors plunge pool.

Sand Castle Apartment consists of 3-bedrooms; 2 doubles and 1 twin. There are plenty of seating and relaxation area, outside dining area and a kitchen with a cook.

Baobab House is a 2 bedroom cottage with big private garden. The bedrooms are baobab house room 1 and baobab house room 2.
