3 Day Rubondo Island Lake Victoria Tanzania Flying Safari: Discover the rare parts of Tanzania – the wild and remote Rubondo Island tucked in the southwest corner of Lake Victoria, the world’s second-largest fresh water lake.
Rubondo Island might just be the most unique destination in Africa for those seeking exceptional adventure experiences in the wilderness.
This 25 000 hectare (250km²) paradise in the south-western corner of the expansive Lake Victoria is the largest island national park on the continent and is all but untouched by man.
Elephants roam wild, colorful birds and butterflies flit through the boughs of pristine indigenous forest, and the waters teem with the iconic Nile Perch. The Island is some 28 km in length along the north-south axis and between 3 km's and 10 km's wide.
Lake Victoria covers 68,000 square kilometers and is the largest lake in Africa and the second largest in the world – comparatively it is twice the size of The Netherlands.
Rubondo Island boasts a unique diversity of flora and fauna. Only here can the visitor be sure of seeing Sitatunga and have the chance of observing small gangs of chimpanzees.
Other mammals frequently seen include hippos, otters, bush-bucks and vervet monkeys. Rarer sightings are Genet, Colobus, marsh Mongoose and Suni antelope (DikDik). Rubondo is a paradise for bird-lovers, with nearly 430 species documented on the island.
The diversity of habitats, from open woodland to papyrus swamps and evergreen forest, together with its geographical location in the heart of Africa, attracts numerous resident and migrant species.
The island has an abundance of herons, storks, egrets, ibises, cormorants, kingfishers, flycatchers, bee-eaters, hornbills and birds of prey, including the highest density of fish eagles anywhere in the world.

2 Days Gombe Stream National Park Chimpanzee Safari | One Night 2 Days Gombe Stream National Park Safari |
|
|
2 Days Gombe Stream National Park Chimpanzee Safari offers you a great opportunity to see chimpanzees, the park's main attraction. Aside from Chimps there are many other primates, like the blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, red colobus and mammals.
As you enjoy your walking safari, you will also encounter several other animals from pythons to baboons, bushbucks, dik-diks, forest pigs, small antelopes among others.
The birdlife is extraordinary, as there is a great crossover of East African grassland birds and West African forest species. A checklist of 200 bird species includes fish eagle, palmnut vulture and Peter’s twinspot etc all of which are frequent around camp.
Gombe Stream is one of Tanzania’s smallest National Parks, located in western Tanzania, 10 miles (20 km) north of Kigoma, the regional capital of western Tanzania.
Gombe Stream National Park is set against the backdrop of the stunning Mahale Mountains. Gombe Stream is Tanzania's smallest park covering only 52 square kilometers, located on the western border of Tanzania and the Congo, situated on the shores of Lake Tanganyika.
It is a narrow strip of mountainous country bounded in the east by the crest of the eastern Rift Valley escarpment, and in the west by Lake Tanganyika.
Chimpanzees are the main attraction at Gombe Stream. These remarkable mammals, habituated to human visitors, were made famous by the pioneering work of Jane Goodall.
The majority of wildlife to be found at Gombe Stream is primates. In addition to the famous chimpanzees, you may see olive baboons; these have also been researched since the 1960s and are exceptionally habituated to humans.
You may also spot the red-tailed and red colobus monkeys; the latter is regularly hunted by chimps and so they stick to the forest canopy. Leopard and bushbuck are also residents in the dense forest, along with fish eagles and palm-nut vultures, which are often seen flying overhead.
Gombe Stream is the perfect place for a walking safari, allowing you to cool off along the way with a dip in one of the many streams that criss-cross the park. It also is a living laboratory, home to the world’s most studied group of wild chimpanzees.
The Center’s mission is to operate a world-class research station in which the best available methods are used to continue and further develop the long-term primate research projects begun by Dr. Jane Goodall.
The Center’s mission is also to advance basic science, support conservation, and train Tanzanian scientists.

Where to Go in Zanzibar | Zanzibar Best Beaches |
Zanzibar’s brilliant white beaches lapped by the warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean provide the perfect place to relax, soak up the sun and take a break from some busy sightseeing.
There are more than 25 fantastic beaches in Zanzibar. These include Nungwi – the dhow building capital of Zanzibar island, so it is a good place to see traditional craftsmen at work.
On the west coast of Zanzibar, Mangapwani beach is worth a visit, and to the east are the beaches of Matemwe, Pwani Mchangani, Kiwengwa, Uroa, Bwejuu and Jambiani, all with stretches of beautiful white sands.
Zanzibar also boasts several small offshore islands which are ideal for a day-trip. Prison (or Changu) island is the most popular with tourists because it is only a short trip from Stone Town. Other islets near to Stone Town are Chapwani, Chumbe and Bawe.
|
Zanzibar Stone Town Old City |
Stone Town is the old city and cultural heart of Zanzibar, little changed in the last 200 years. Stone Town places of visit include: The Old Dispensary (now known as the Stone Town Cultural Centre).
The market is a great place to visit even if you don’t want to buy anything, Livingstone’s House was built around 1860 for Sultan Majid, and was used by many of the missionaries and explorers as a starting point.
The Peace Memorial Museum is an interesting look at Zanzibar’s history. The Palace Museum is a large white building with castellated battlements, and was built in the late 1890’s for members of the Sultan’s family.
The House of Wonders is a very large square-shaped building, with several stories, surrounded by tiers of pillars and balconies, and topped by a large clock tower.
The Arab Fort is situated next to the House of Wonders and was built between 1698 and 1701 by the Busaidi group of Omani Arabs. There are lots of other interesting places to visit in Stone Town, so exploration is the order of the day!
|
Other Islands Near Zanzibar |
Only a few kilometers from Stone Town are several islets such as Chumbe and Chapwani, where good accommodation is available. Bawe and Prison Islands are good for day trips with excellent snorkeling available.
Tumbatu Island, off the north-west coast of Zanzibar is one of the largest off-shore islands but has no facilities for tourists. Mnemba Island is located near the north-east coast featuring luxury accommodation.
Although Mnemba is a private island, it is surrounded by a rich coral reef, which is great for scuba diving and snorkelling and is visited by several watersports centres in the area.
Pemba is Zanzibar’s sister island and has beautiful beaches, natural forests and outstanding diving. Misali island, off Pemba’s east coast, is idyllic and excellent for diving.
Mafia, another island in the sun and no relative of the mob, is actually governed by mainland Tanzania but is not far from the Zanzibar archipelago. Zanzibar also boasts several small offshore islands which are ideal for a day-trip.
Prison (or Changu) island is the most popular with tourists because it is only a short trip from Stone Town.

When you tire of gazing at grazers, head to Moru Kopjes to mingle with rhinos or to the Retina Hippo Pool to watch these massive mammals splash about.
Serengeti Nighttime game drives: A night game drive allows you the unique opportunity to spot a number of nocturnal animals, such as civets, bush babies, nightjars, and aardvarks, and possibly even predators on the hunt.
Night Game Drives are possible in the reserves adjacent to the Serengeti night driving is available.
Most notable areas include Singita's Grumeti Reserves (Sasakwa, Faru Faru and Grumeti Reserves Sabora), Kleins Camp and the camps in the adjacent Loliondo reserve.
Serengeti Balloon Safaris: There are no words that can do the experience of floating over the Serengeti justice." Get a birds-eye view of the park as you rise alongside the sun.
The flight lasts about an hour, after which passengers gather round a table, surrounded by the park's lush plains, for an "Out of Africa" English-style breakfast.
Oldupai Gorge: Lying only a few miles south of Serengeti National Park, the Oldupai Gorge (also called Olduvai Gorge) is a steep-sided ravine that is about 30 miles long.
The site is famous because it is here where the Leakey’s discovered human fossils and tools dating back to over 2 million years ago.
View Wildlife and Nature on Foot (or even on horseback!) An interesting way to explore the Serengeti ecosystem is to do it on your own two feet.
While perhaps not as exciting as drives, walking safaris are a great chance to get up close to the plants, trees, and smaller animals and learn a lot more about them.

2 Days 1 Night Ruaha National Park Flying Safari
|
|
2 Days 1 Night Ruaha National Park Flying Safari | 2 Days 1 Night Ruaha National Park Luxury flight Safari |
|
2 Days 1 Night Ruaha National Park Flying Safari is an affordable luxury flying-in safari from Dar-es-salaam or Zanzibar to Ruaha National Park located 600 kilometers to the west of Dar-es-salaam.
If you can only see one park in all of Africa, it should be Ruaha National Park in Tanzania. The combination of stunning scenery, rugged landscapes, and animal variety is unmatched.
Ruaha National Park is the largest national park in Tanzania. It covers an area of about 13,000 square kilometers and is located in the middle of Tanzania about 130 kilometers from Iringa.
The park’s location, in central western Tanzania means it is far from civilization and, apart from a few very keen overland trippers, is accessed only by light aircraft.
The relatively few camps mean that you have swathes of untouched African bush to explore.
And with its amazing birdlife (547 different species!) as well as copious big game; Ruaha is one of the most interesting and diverse parks you can visit.
The park is rich of plants and animals such as Kudu (both Greater and Lesser), elephants, hippopotamus, fish and crocodiles,
Ruaha is believed to have high concentration of elephants than any national park in East Africa. It is also a place where, magnificent mammals like Sable and Roan antelopes can easily be spotted in Miombo woodland.
The park is also a habitat for endangered wild dogs. Other animals in the park include lions, leopards, cheetah, giraffes, zebras, elands, impala, bat eared foxes and Jackals.
|
Ruaha National Park Tanzania Highlights | What to Do and See |
Bird Watching: Ruaha is one of the Tanzania birds’ paradise with more than 571species and some of them are known to be migrants from within and outside Africa. Ruaha red-billed hornbill which is dominant in the area.
Game Drives: With comfy custom-built open game drive vehicles which are perfect for traversing the beautiful and varied habitats of the park.
Game drives are the best way to get up close to the multitude of wildlife that calls Ruaha home; big-maned lions, great herds of elephant, the handsome greater kudu, Sable and Roan antelope.
Other animals include wild dogs, lions, leopards, cheetah, giraffes, zebras, elands, impala, bat eared foxes and Jackals, crocodiles, poisonous and non-poisonous snakes, monitor lizards, agama lizards and frogs.
Walking safari: Between drives, you can also get out on foot. Being on your own two pegs gives you a totally different experience.
Walking gives you an appreciation of the tranquility, complexity and vastness of the African wilderness and we think it's one of the best things you can do on safari.
Being in the company of a trained and experienced guide both ensures your safety and opens the door onto the wonders of our natural surroundings.
Bush Meals Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner: We're great fans of "going out" for breakfast and enjoying a sundowner in a beautiful spot.
These things are rare treats in the safari day and something that you wouldn't do back home, which frankly is the only reason you need for doing them!

There are also picnic spots in the park. A full range of activities is however on offer in the wider Ngorongoro Conservation Area, including walking, trekking, excursions to Olduvai Gorge and visiting the Masai and other tribes.
The choice is whether to stay at a hotel on the Crater rim for the phenomenal view, or a little way away from the Crater in nearby Karatu.
