2 Days Ngutuni Ngangao Forest Taita Hills Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Mombasa – Drive to Ngutuni Sanctuary – Drive to Wundanyi
Depart Mombasa after breakfast and drive Ngutuni Sanctuary located about 150 km’s from Mombasa.

The Sanctuary (a 10,000 acre game sanctuary) sits adjacent to Tsavo East National park, 15 km’s from Voi town towards Mombasa.

Upon arrival in the sanctuary we enjoy a game drive en-route to Ngutuni Lodge lunch.

After lunch, we drive to Wundanyi (popular place for hiking) as we enjoy the scenery with views of Sagala Hills, Vuria Hills and Mbololo hills.

We visit Ngangao Forest located 10 km's from Wundanyi. The forest has many plants and animal species.

Ngangao Forest is home to 3 endemic birds’ species (Taita Thrush Turdus (olivaceus) helleri, Taita Apalis Apalis (thoracica) fuscigularis and Taita White-eye Zosterops (poliogaster) silvanus).

We visit a local primary school on our way back to our hotel for check in and overnight.

On our game-drive we might see buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, giraffe, zebra, hartebeest, impala, waterbuck, gazelle, lesser kudu, dik-dik, and other smaller animals, including a great diversity of bird life.

Lunch will be served at Taita Hill Lodge. After lunch depart back to Mombasa overland arriving in the early evening.

After lunch, you will embark on an extensive game drive. Ruma National park lies in Western Kenya, close to the shores of Africa’s largest inland Lake, Lake Victoria.

The park is considered the last retreat and the sanctuary of the endangered and threatened Roan antelope which is considered one of the Africa’s rarest Antelopes.

An early morning game drive is planned on this day followed by breakfast back at the lodge. We checkout of our accommodations and depart with packed lunch boxes to Rusinga Island for a tour. Rusinga is a pretty Island.

We visit Tom Mboya’s mausoleum. Tom Mboya’s was a civil rights champion, trade unionist and charismatic young Luo politician who was gunned down in Nairobi in 1969, sparking off a crisis that led to over forty deaths in widespread rioting and demonstrations.

We have packed lunch at a convenient place in the Island, and then drive to catch the 1500 Hours Ferry to Lwanda K’Otieno.

Along the way we visit the Akala market which is famous for cattle sale in the whole of Nyanza region to get to learn after interacting with both sellers and buyers.

We arrive in Kisumu in the evening.

0800 Hours: Nairobi Cultural Experience Shopping Tour begins with a pick up from your hotel/ residence. Today we travel from Nairobi to a Masai village (Manyatta) situated in Ngong Hills countryside.

The drive takes you to the Masai who are plain Nilotes – a tribe that has succeeded in maintaining their cultural identity and continue to lead a traditional pastoral life.

Most Masai wear distinctive clothing usually red to discourage lion attacks. Their primary occupation is grazing cattle and goats in the open savannah.

At the village they perform a traditional Masai dance, and allow you into their cow dung huts. You enjoy speaking with them and learning about their culture.

1200 Hours: After the village tour we depart for lunch at one of the popular restaurants located in Karen estate.

1300 Hours: Lunch will be at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden Restaurant or the Tamambo Karen Blixen Restaurant.

Day 1 : Kisumu City – Drive to the Masai Mara Game Reserve
0700 Hours: We depart Kisumu city, after breakfast at our hotel/ residence to the Masai Mara Game Reserve driving through the towns of Kericho, Sotik, Mulot and into Masai Mara.

1300 Hours: Arrive for lunch at your lodge/ camp.

1530 Hours: Late in the afternoon enjoy a game drive. Masai Mara Game Reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration. The Mara is home of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino.

Other animals presennt include Masai Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland and thousand of plain game including Impala, Zebra, Topi, both Thomson's and grants Gazelles.

Chyulu Hills National Park 2 Days 1 Night Flying Safari is a luxury overnight flying safari from Nairobi to Chyulu Hills National Park.

Chyulu Hills National Park is tucked away between Tsavo West National Park and Amboseli National Park and boasts of striking and diverse landscapes.

The park is 1 hour by private charter from Nairobi and has an airstrip. A myriad choice of activities are avilable to explore while at Chyulu Hills National Park.

Day 1: Nairobi – Fly to Tsavo Chyulu Hills
0600 Hours: After Breakfast, we transfer to Wilson airport for our scheduled flight to Ol Donyo Lodge airstrip in the Chyulu Hills.

0730 Hours: Our flight from Wilson airport departs for Tsavo West National Park.

0820 Hours: Upon arrival at Ol Donyo Lodge airstrip in the Chyulu Hills, we proceed for a game drive south towards Kilimanjaro into the magnificent Chyulu Hills on the southern border of Tsavo West National Park.

1200 Hours: You will arrive at your accommodations at Campi Ya Kanzi or Ol Donyo Lodge. The area offers incredible views of Kilimanjaro, (famed for its ‘red’ elephants and of course the legendary “man-eaters”).

1500 Hours: We depart for the afternoon game drive in open 4×4 safari vehicles with professional guides. There are over 600 species of bird life in this area.

Other available activities include: escorted game walks, forest walks, bird watching, Masai Village visits, Bush breakfast and Bush Dinners.

There are also crocodiles and small mammals like mongoose, hyrax, dik dik and the nocturnal porcupine.

1200 Hours: Later we have lunch then some rest time before we transfer you to board the scheduled flight to Nairobi.

1500 Hours: Your flight departs Ol Donyo Lodge airstrip in the Chyulu Hills for Nairobi.

The journey takes around 4 hours from Nairobi.

1300 Hours: We arrive in time for lunch, check-in to our rooms then later relax before the evening game drive.

There are great chances of encountering numerous black and white rhino, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, oryx, antelope, Thompson’s gazelle, impala, waterbuck and warthog.
