This 2-day wildlife safari begins and ends in Mombasa and covers the wildlife-rich Ngutuni Sanctuary, the scenic Ngangao Forest, and the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary (Salt Lick Safari Lodge), which overlooks a waterhole, and the vast Tsavo plains.

Day 1: Mombasa – Ngutuni Sanctuary – Ngangao Forest – Wundanyi 
0600 Hours – 0930 Hours: Pick up from your coastal hotel/residence and drive towards Ngutuni Sanctuary (approx. 150 km)
0930 Hours – 1230 Hours: Enter Ngutuni Wildlife Sanctuary for an early morning game drive, spotting elephants, lions, and buffalo
1230 Hours – 0230 Hours: Lunch at Ngutuni Safari Lodge, which offers views of a waterhole
0230 Hours – 0430 Hours: Drive towards Wundanyi, enjoying scenic views of the Sagala, Vuria, and Mbololo hills
0430 Hours – 0600 Hours: Guided walk or drive in the Ngangao Forest, looking for Taita endemic bird species
0630 Hours: Check in at your hotel/lodge in Wundanyi or Taita Hills for dinner and overnight

Day 2: Taita Hills Sanctuary – Mombasa 

0600 Hours – 0830 Hours: Early morning game drive in the Taita Hills Game Sanctuary
0830 Hours – 0930 Hours: Breakfast at the lodge
0930 Hours – 1230 Hours: Mid-morning game viewing and a drive to the Taita Hills Safari Lodge

2 Days Ngutuni Ngangao forest Taita Hills safari is a short overnight trip from Mombasa to Ngutuni Private Game Sanctuary, Ngangao Forest in Wundanyi, and the private Taita Hills game sanctuary.

Ngutuni Sanctuary is home to a wide variety of animals, including elephants, lions, and buffalo.

Visit Ngangao forest – one of the few remaining indigenous cloud forest fragments in the Taita Hills of Kenya – to see animals, endemic birds, and plant species. You will have the privilege of stopping and interacting with children at one of the local schools in the Wundayi area.

A game drive in Taita Hills Game Sanctuary reveals an abundance of wildlife, including buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, giraffe, zebra, and others, including a great diversity of bird life.

Day 1:  Mombasa – Drive to Ngutuni Sanctuary – Drive to Wundanyi
Day 2: Wundanyi – Drive to Taita Hills Game Sanctuary – Drive to Mombasa

Depart Mombasa after breakfast and drive to Ngutuni Sanctuary, located about 150 km from Mombasa. The Sanctuary (a 10,000-acre game sanctuary) sits adjacent to Tsavo East National Park, 15 km from Voi town towards Mombasa

Upon arrival at the sanctuary, we enjoy a game drive en route to the Ngutuni Lodge for lunch.

After lunch, we drive to Wundanyi (a popular hiking destination) and enjoy views of the Sagala, Vuria, and Mbololo Hills. We visit Ngangao Forest, located 10 km from Wundanyi. The forest has many plants and animal species.

Ngangao Forest is home to 3 endemic bird species (Taita Thrush Turdus (olivaceus) helleri, Taita Apalis Apalis (thoracica) fuscigularis, and Taita White-eye Zosterops (poliogaster) silvanus).

We visit a local primary school on our way back to our hotel for check-in and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Wundanyi – Drive to Taita Hills Game Sanctuary – Drive to Mombasa

After breakfast at our hotel, we depart by road to Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, located adjacent to Tsavo West National Park and the LUMO Community Wildlife Sanctuary.

On our game drive, we might see buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, giraffe, zebra, hartebeest, impala, waterbuck, gazelle, lesser kudu, dik-dik, and other smaller animals, as well as a great diversity of bird life.

Lunch will be served at Taita Hill Lodge. After lunch, depart back to Mombasa overland, arriving in the early evening.

Transfer and drop off at your Beach Hotel.
