Its sprawling colonial design was influenced by the late actor William Holden, who founded the Club in 1959 with two of his friends.

His love for Africa led him to make Kenya his second home for over twenty-five years.

The club has over the years attracted legions of internationally renowned members and guests from the world of politics, film and theatre.

Sir Winston Churchill and Lord Mountbatten were members, and enjoyed sojourns at the club, as have legends Clark Gable and John Wayne, and more recent celebrities such as Robert Redford, Sean Connery and Catherine Deneuve.

You too will receive the star treatment as you settle into your suite or cozy cottage. Pay a visit and do not miss the animal orphanage operated by the William Holden Wildlife Foundation.

The Mara is considered the finest game sanctuary in Kenya, home to an astonishing number and variety of animals.

According to the season, hundreds of thousands of migratory Wildebeest, Gazelle and Zebra move back and forth between the Mara and the plains and woodlands to the south.

On the other hand, you may choose to add a hot air balloon safari – the ultimate safari experience! You leave camp before dawn – the sky is clear, the air is brisk and the conditions are perfect.

As the sun rises over the Mara plains in your balloon lifts off, a bright splash of color rising into the blue.

Watch as a stunning panorama unfolds below you and the balloon’s basket becomes your lookout post for a bird’s-eye view of the beauty of Africa.

Float silently just a few hundred feet above herds of wild animals. Gazelle and Impala watch curiously with their tails flagging – a warning to others that you are approaching.

A pride of Lions stalks an unsuspecting herd of Wildebeest. Giraffes poke their heads out of the forest where they have been nibbling tender leaves.

The tranquility of the experience is interrupted only by the occasional ‘whoosh’ of the air heaters.

Finally, you gently touch down, with an appetite sharpened by the fresh air, all ready for a delicious champagne breakfast in the middle of the bush.

After a relaxing repast, continue honing your game spotting skills on a game drive as you make your way back to the camp/ Lodge.

Learn the skills of successful tracking as you follow animal trails in the dust, watching for each clue to their habits and movements.

Kenya Safari Packages | 6 Days 5 Nights Kenya Road Safari Samburu Aberdare Lake Nakuru Masai Mara

6 Days Kenya Samburu Aberdare Nakuru Masai Mara Road Safari begins with a visit to Samburu National Reserve – a not very well-known, but definitely worth a visit.

Samburu National Reserve is situated on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in Kenya.

This means plenty of water, trees and shade to attract wildlife like elephant, lion, giraffe and zebra from the surrounding savannah plains. Leopards are also regularly spotted.

The reserve is not particularly well-known and is therefore not too crowded – a huge plus in Kenya where so many reserves are often overflowing with tourists.

It is often grouped together with the Buffalo Springs and Shaba National Reserves as they lie so close together.

Our next stop is the Aberdare National Park – created in 1950 to protect the forested slopes and moors of the Aberdare Mountains.

The park has elephant, lion, rhino, black leopard and the beautiful but elusive bongo antelope. Both Treetops and The Ark are built above the ground beside floodlit waterholes with salt licks.

Visitors must book in advance and cannot make their own way to the lodges in private vehicles.

Instead check-in is at the Aberdare Country club for The Ark and the Outspan Hotel for Treetops, from where guests are bussed to their respective lodges.

Treetops is one of Kenya's most famous hotels – this is where British Princess Elizabeth was informed that she had become Queen in 1952 on news of her father's death.

Lake Nakuru National Park – renowned as a bird sanctuary with over 400 bird species, including huge flocks of flamingoes and many other water birds.

It is an excellent park for wildlife spotting and is home to many water-loving animals such as hippos and waterbucks.

Other animals present in the park include waterbucks, warthogs, impalas, buffalo, Rothschild giraffes, elands, endangered black rhinos, white rhinos and, occasionally leopards.

The Masai Mara provides the best view of the famous wildebeest migration as the animals cross the Mara River between July and August.

The Mara is also home to the richest concentration of wildlife, including the "Big Five" (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo), zebras, antelope, gnus, Oribis, hyenas, giraffes, warthogs, gazelles, hartebeests, hippos, crocodiles and others.

The park has the largest concentration of African lions, including the black-maned lion. Bird-life is as plentiful as wildlife at the Masai Mara, which boasts over 400 different bird’s species.

    6 Days Kenya Safaris

6 Days Amboseli Lake Nakuru Lake Naivasha Masai Mara Safari is a delightful journey for travelers with limited time away from home yet who desire an in-depth safari experience.

In less than a week we touch upon nearly all of the region's highlights; Amboseli National Park, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru National Park and the Masai Mara Game reserve.

African safari is about the animals…thundering herds, thousands of creatures on the plains, in the craters and in the jungle.

All of Africa pulses with the sights and sounds of the last true paradise left on earth. But sometimes there can be more to a safari than just wildlife.

On that rare and wonderful occasion, there can be splendor and elegance beyond your wildest imagination.

Amboseli National Park is one of the classic images of East Africa, let alone Kenya, is that of a herd of elephant strolling across the plains with the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro in the background.

The park is one of the smaller game parks in Kenya, but it offers you the best opportunity of seeing the critically endangered black rhino, along with a spectacular range of wildlife.

Streams from Kilimanjaro surface in the centre of Amboseli, creating swamps that attract and support a rich diversity of wild animals and birdlife.

Most of Amboseli is flat and dusty and so the best spots for game viewing are these wetlands.

Lake Nakuru national park where we may view some flamingos thrive in the salinity of the Lake. The park is dominated by a gentle undulating terrain with open bush and woodlands, typical of the dry rift valley vegetation.

Twenty seven percent (27%) of the park is composed of the Lake Nakuru waters. The park was declared a rhino sanctuary in 1983.The Rhino stocking programme which ensued received white rhinos from South Africa.

There are endangered black and  White Rhino as well as other wildlife species in the lake.

The Lake Naivasha and its surrounds are rich in natural bounty, and the fertile soils and water supply have made this one of Kenya’s prime agricultural regions.

Much of the lake is surrounded by forests of the yellow barked Acacia Xanthophloea, known as the yellow fever tree.

These forests abound with bird life, and Naivasha is known as a world class birding destination. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these shores.

Giraffes wander among the acacia, Buffalo wallow in the swamps and Colobus monkeys call from the treetops while the Lakes large hippo populations sleep the day out in the shallows.

The Masai Mara Game Reserve – Kenya’s most famous and finest game sanctuary.

In the months of June and July each year, the wildebeests in their troops arrive at the Kenyan border, ready to cross the steep banks of the broad and fast flowing Mara River.

This crossing is truly the greatest episode of the entire migration. Hot on their heels are the predators of the savannah –lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.

The banks of the Mara River provide one of the best vantage points to witness the drama.

The Mara also offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here.

You will most likely see the Big Five- lion, rhino, buffalo, leopard, and elephant. Not to mention numerous plain animals.

5 Days Ol Pejeta Lake Naivasha Masai Mara Lodge Safari begins with a visit to the famous Sweetwaters Game Reserve is 90,000-acre private ranch with magnificent views across the plains to the snow capped peaks of Mount Kenya.

This game sanctuary is the closest reserve to Nairobi (3.5 hours drive) home to all the big five game, and has the highest ratio of game-to-area of any park or reserve in Kenya.

Its popular waterhole is floodlit by night, providing excellent and secluded rarely seen game viewing. Game drives at Sweetwaters are indeed a pleasure.

Game viewing may also take the form of game walks accompanied by a resident Naturalist, game rides on horseback, Camel riding, night game drives and "bush" lunches or dinners.

The Chimpanzee Sanctuary is most informative and entertaining and should be visited while in the Game Reserve.

The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is incorporated within the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and is the only place in Kenya where this highly endangered and remarkably intelligent species can be seen.
