    Amboseli Sopa Lodge is situated on 200 acres of wooded Masai land on the foot hills of Africa’s highest Mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro. The lodge is 250 kilometers from Nairobi and it takes about 4 hours drive.

    Flying from Nairobi to the lodge is about 40 minutes and an hour’s transfer time to the lodge from Amboseli Airstrip. Amboseli National park (Kimana gate) is 20 kilometers away from the lodge.

    There are 83 guestrooms comprising of 71 double rooms, 9 single rooms, 1 presidential suite, 1 honeymoon suite and 2 rooms for the physically challenged guests.

    Each guestroom is brightly decorated with Maasai themed wall murals and is tastefully fitted with air conditioning, sofas, work desk, verandah and en-suite bathroom.

    The presidential suite has 2 bedrooms, huge lounge area, private dining room and an attached kitchenette and a quite simply vast veranda.

    The onsite restaurant serves a variety of local and international cuisine.The restaurant has small but attractive recessed bar and an outdoor terrace where guests can dine and enjoy the views of Kilimanjaro.

    The thatched roof restaurant is elegantly decorated with multicolored marble shards, suspended chandeliers and clay tiles evenly spaced carved wooden panels the central fire place is decorated with wood carvings.

    There are 3 bars; Mawenzi bar, Hemingway’s bar and the pool bar. The Mawenzi bar is divided into two by a massive central fire place; the inner section and the outer section.

    The pool bar is set in a brightly colored, rodavel-style building adjacent to the pool.

    Hemingway’s Bar is perched on top of massive boulders at the highest point of the property; it offers uninterrupted 360 views of the surrounding landscapes and is the perfect place for an evening sundowner.

    Amboseli Sopa Lodge has conference facilities which provide an ideal venue for corporate events. The lodge also features a sauna and swimming pool.

    Amboseli Chui Cottage is located in the heart of the Amboseli National Park, 230 kilometers from Nairobi.The cottage lies close to the Tanzanian border with magnificent views of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro.

    The banda features a bedroom, a bathroom, a lounge area, and a kitchen. The bedroom has twin single beds and the bathroom features a shower and flush toilet.

    The lounge area is small and has cozy chairs. The well equipped kitchen has each features a gas stove, fridge, cutlery, crockery, glasses and dining table. Guests are welcomed to prepare their own meals.

    AA Lodge Amboseli National Park is located in Amboseli, 5 km from Amboseli National Park main gate (Kimana Gate). Nairobi is situated about 240 km from the lodge and 20 km from the Emali-Loitoktok tarmac road.

    The Amboseli Airstrip is approximately 16 km from the AA Lodge. The lodge is built in a three tier architectural design and has 98 guestrooms comprising of 67 classic tents and 31 lodge rooms.

    Day 2: Gorilla Trekking – Later drive back to Kigali
    0700 Hours: After an early cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate, we transfer to the park headquarters for briefing.

    0800 Hours: You will gather at the park headquarters together with tracking gear, packed breakfast and lunch for briefing before heading in the forest to track the gorillas.

    The time you will spend tracking the gorillas is unpredictable and it may take as few as only 2 hours on a good day yet it may even take you 8 hours before you meet these great apes.

    This period taken depends on their movement on the previous day. When you finally find the gorillas, you will have to spend an hour watching them play and eat foliage as you take photographs. It is truly a thrilling experience of a lifetime.

    In case you finish the gorilla tracking early you can choose to relax and have a drink at one of the executive hotels near the park or you can take a cultural tour so as to have an opportunity to interact with the friendly local people.

    Later we shall leisurely drive back to Kigali. Feel free to buy and take craft products from craft shops as they will mark your trip to Kigali – Rwanda.

    The Ishasha area of the Park is home to a very unique predator, the tree-climbing lions, whose males have black manes.     Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
    0700 Hours: After an early breakfast at the hotel, you will meet by our safari driver/ guide and depart Kampala for Bwindi Impenetrable forest located in the south-western part of Uganda.

    A brief stop at the Equator provides an opportunity of photographing. Continue to the rolling hills and terraced landscapes of Kabale District. Have lunch in Mbarara town and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for overnight.

    Travel Time: About 9 to11 Hours.

    After an early morning breakfast and guide briefing, set off for your gorilla tracking in the forests of Bwindi. Trekking Time: Unpredictable.

    This Park is best known for the fascinating gorillas, where the time taken to find them and terrain varies according to the movements of these marvelous primates.

    Though the time spent to track down these Gorillas is unpredictable, the thrill of spending time and observing these gentle giant gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure that will leave you with long lasting memories of a truly unique experience.

    The gorillas are shy and peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they play and interact.

    A packed lunch, drinking water will be carried along as you track, comfortable boots or sturdy shoes, as well a light rain jacket are also important due to the unpredictable weather of Bwindi Impenetrable forest.

    Walking sticks will be available from the park rangers. For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these gentle giants. In the evening, proceed to the village for a cultural walk to interact with the local people.

    Have an early breakfast and proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park through Ishasha. The travel time is about 4 to 6 hours. A game drive en-route will reward you with views of lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, hyenas and a variety of antelope species.

    1400 Hours: Enjoy the unique evening 2-hour launch cruise on Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. The trip passes through the highest concentration of Hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water’s edge.

    The launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species.

    Budongo Forest situated approximately 250 km's (3 hours drive) northwest of the capital city – Kampala. The forest is renowned for its high number of mahogany trees and chimpanzees.

    Budongo Forest activities include: Chimpanzee tracking, forest walk, birding, chimp habituation experience and wildlife safaris.

    Out of these activities, chimpanzee tracking and chimp habituation experience are the most common of all. The forest is believed to contain some 600 to 700 chimpanzees.

    Kaniyo Padidi and Busingiro eco-tourism sites are the two sites which have chimpanzees that have been habituated for chimpanzee tracking.

    You will be tracking them deep in the forest in search of chimpanzee families and spend a full day watching/ observing them.

    Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Budongo Forest Reserve
    0800 Hours: Our driver-guide will pick you from the hotel and depart by road to Budongo Forest Reserve. The Forest is situated approximately 3 hours drive northwest of the capital city Kampala.

    On our way we will drive through the historical Luwero Triangle (our driver guide will give you a historical overview of the area) as you proceed to Nakansongola and on to Masindi town.

    1230 Hours: Lunch will be served at Masindi Hotel or Court View Hotel. After lunch we proceed to Murchison Falls National Falls National Park. Once in the park, an evening nature walk into the forest is planned.

    Budongo Forest is truly a paradise for bird watchers with 360 different species. Accompanied by a guide you will follow the trails and look out for different types of birds.

    Visit to the 'Royal Mile' located about 15 km from Budongo Eco Lodge and offers a spectacular wide forest avenue with a high density of birds, including the Chocolate-backed Kingfisher and Paradise Flycatcher.

    1800 Hours: We will end our evening nature walk in Budongo Forest and check in at Budongo-Eco-Lodge for dinner and overnight.

    Day 2: Explore Budongo Forest Reserve
    0700 Hours: After breakfast, we will go for a morning Chimpanzee trekking in Kaniyo Pabidi Forest.

    0800 Hours: Gather for briefing by the rangers at the forest gate and embark on the hike to the forest in search of Chimpanzees.

    This is an undisturbed area of natural forest within Budongo Forest Reserve where you can walk beneath mature mahogany and iron wood trees. Chimpanzee trekking is the most famous activity.

    Being the habitat of more than 600 chimpanzees and 8 other species of primates, Budongo Forest has one of the largest communities of chimps in the country. It is also home to rare forest bird species, such as the Puvel's Illadopses, which is endemic to this region.

    Moreover, Budongo Reserve is the largest remaining Mahogany forest in East Africa, with impressive trees growing up to 80 meters. With a network of 115 km of trails, this unexplored area offers you great excitement and, an adventure not be missed.

    Chimp Habituation Experience: With the habituation experience you will spend an entire day with our 'cousins' and learn about their way of life.

    Chimpanzee Habituation in Budongo Forest started in 1992 with the aim to habituate the chimpanzees to human presence, without necessarily altering their natural behavior.

    This experience offers you the unique chance to join the professional guides on their daily program and follow the chimps during their activities.

    3 Days 2 Nights Mgahinga National Park Uganda road safaris is a short gorilla trekking vacation from Kampala, the Capital City of Uganda to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park located 540 km's away (an 8-hour drive going through Kabale).

    The Mgahinga Gorilla National Park (MGNP) is in the Kisoro District of far south-western Uganda. The Park is about 8 to 10 hours drive from Kampala, Uganda and about 6 hours drive from Kigali, Rwanda.

    Gorilla Tracking is the most thrilling tourist activity in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The habituated gorilla in this park is called the Nyakagezi, which consists of 9 members, 2 silverbacks, 3 adult females, 2 juveniles and 2 infants.

    It is an intensive experience that can last a day long. The tour guide leads you through the gorilla's world, explaining comprehensively ecological and behavioral aspects of the gorillas.

    Whereas chances are high that you will the gorillas, this is not guaranteed. Gorillas by nature are wild creatures with no fixed routine and finding them requires the skill and experience of your trackers and guides as well as luck by your side on that day.

    The trackers and guides have helped to habituate the gorilla groups and know them intimately. They will take you to the area where they left the gorillas the day before.

    Before leaving they may be able to suggest how long the hike might be. While walking, please feel free to ask guides to slow down if they are going too fast and if you need a rest.

    Feel free to stop and look at birds or flowers, the guide will ensure that you don't get left behind.

    The exercise can be tiresome, so better you are fit physically and please wear shoes with good traction ideal for steep muddy slopes and when taking photos dim and flash lights are not allowed since these animals are black in color.

    Besides Gorillas Mgahinga Gorilla National Park has about 39 mammal and 79 bird species. Animals like forest elephants, leopards, buffalos, warthogs/ bush pig are rarely seen at the park. jackals, serval, duikers and bushbucks

    Birdlife in the park is also quite impressive with recorded species of species about 178 – 184. Notable bird species include the Rwenzori turaco, crowned hornbill, black kite and crowned crane.

    Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Mgahinga National Park
    0700 Hours: Our professional safari driver guide will pick you from your hotel after breakfast and depart by road driving to the south-western part of Uganda via Kibale town.

    Time permitting you may have a break at the Equator for photography. The scenic journey will take you past Lake Mburo where you may have a chance of seeing zebras grazing and incredible long horned cattle alongside the road.

    Our lunch break will be at Mbarara town then proceed to Kabale, Kisoro and finally reach the Park in the evening. Check-in into your preferred lodge for dinner and an overnight.

    Day 2: Mgahinga National Park (Gorilla Tracking)
    0645 Hours: Breakfast at your hotel/ lodge foloowed bt a transfer to Ntebeko.

    0745 Hours: Registration and briefing for gorilla tracking in Mgahinga National Park commences at Ntebeko

    0830 Hours: Tracking starts and can take 3 to 8 hours. The tracking takes a while as searching for these great apes is like going for fishing.

    It’s recommended to pack a light lunch and water. Some levels of fitness are necessary in order to do the walking through the thick jungle and thick forest. Gorillas will be heard grumbling to each other in thick forest.

    It is such the most breathtaking wildlife experience on earth. Other primates can also be seen include golden monkey, black and white colobus monkey.

    1300 Hours: Later you will return back to the lodge in time for lunch followed by some rest time. In the afternoon you may opt to for guided walk and visit the Garama cave which is 342 metre long and 14 deep.

    It’s one of the caves where the Batwa lived and fought their neighbors the Bantu although it’s now inhabited by bats.

    Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

    Murchison Falls National park is located 300 kilometers North West of Kampala about a 5 hour drive. The park is the largest in Uganda and it is traversed by the great Nile River which creates unique waterfalls.

    While there you have great chances of seeing four of the "Big five" – elephants, lions, buffaloes and leopards.

    A visit to the top of the falls offers a spectacular experience where several million gallons of water squeeze in a hardly 7 meter gap before it plunges into thunderous echo falling down 40 meters.

    A boat cruise at the bottom of the falls gives you an amazing experience and possibilities of viewing large Nile Crocodiles and Hippos at a close range.

    Ziwa Rhino Wildlife Ranch offers you the opportunity to observe wild rhinos at a very close and safe distance.

      3 Days Murchison Falls Safari Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary Tour Detailed Itinerary

    Day 1: Kampala Rhino Sanctuary Murchison Falls National Park
    0700 Hours: This morning we enjoy breakfast at our hotel in Kampala then depart by road driving northwards to Masindi. We shall be visiting Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino Trekking.

    The sanctuary provides trained rangers who will ably guide you through this expedition. You will have the opportunity to observe the rhinos at a very close and safe distance.

    While at the sanctuary you will also encounter a range of other wildlife species including uganda kobs, bush bucks, oribis, rich bucks, hippos and crocodiles.

    Other activities available at Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch include bird watching and guided nature walks. The sanctuary is home to over 250 bird species (a great sport for avid birders).

    After an hour or two at the sanctuary we continue to Masindi town for lunch at Masindi Hotel or Court View Hotel.

    Later proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, check in at our lodge and dinner follows.

    Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park (Enjoy Game Drive & Boat Ride)
    0630 Hours: Enjoy an early breakfast then depart for an extensive drive through the scenic Northern Route to the shores of Albert Nile. Explore the Parks amazingly high concentration of game.

    In search of lions, giraffes, large herds of buffalo, kob, waterbuck, elephant, jackals, warthogs, jackson's hartebeests, hyenas and the elusive leopard. 

    The game drive lasts about 4 hours after which you return to the lodge for your lunch and relaxation.

    1430 Hours: Depart for a 3 hour boat ride to the bottom of the falls. A boat cruise upstream to the bottom of the falls is very exciting. : 

    You will also see animals such as giraffe, elephants, school of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, lions, and an abundance of bird life including the famous shoebill stork.

    The ride takes you to the base of the Murchison Falls and you could hike to the top for breathtaking views of these beautiful falls.

    After this thrilling wildlife boat ride you return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

    0800 Hours: Today we enjoy breakfast at the lodge then depart for another extensive game-drive.

    1100 Hours: Check out of the park, drive to Masindi town for lunch at Masindi Hotel or Court View Hotel.

    1800 Hours: Arrive in Kampala late in the evening.

    Alternatively: This morning you could decide not to go for a game drive but instead opt to take a chimpanzee tracking experience at Kaniyo Pabidi in Budongo Forest.

    Budongo Forest is located at the edge of Murchison Falls National Park and is home to a number of primates including habituated chimpanzees, monkeys, baboons and lots of forest birds.
