Lake Nakuru National Park Day Tour is a 1 Day Safari to Lake Nakuru National Park renowned for excellent wildlife viewing. 

Lake Nakuru National Park is one of Kenya’s two Premium Parks, and is a bird lover’s paradise. Originally protected as a bird sanctuary, this park hosts over 400 bird species, including 5 globally threatened species, and is an important stop on the African-Eurasian Migratory Flyway.

This park was also the first national Rhino sanctuary and hosts one of the world’s highest concentrations of the Black Rhinoceros. The park is located 156 km northwest of Nairobi. The main gate is 4 kilometers from Nakuru town centre.

Lake Nakuru National Park Day Tour departs in the early morning from your hotel/residence. The driving time from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park is 3 Hours. Our tour takes the Nairobi-Nakuru highway. On the way to Nakuru you will have a great view of the Rift Valley and the scenery!

A stop at a viewpoint gives us great opportunities to take pictures of the Great Rift Valley and spectacular view of the volcanoes Suswa and Longonot.

Once at the park, we proceed on a game drive where you are guaranteed to see: White Rhinos, African Buffalos, Rothschild Giraffes, Zebras, Impalas, Olive Baboons, Vervet Monkeys and Waterbucks.

The park is a bird sanctuary and has a variety of water birds including Yellow-billed Pelicans, Marabou Storks, Hammerkops, Fish Eagles, etc.

Common in the park: Hyenas, Jackals, Lesser Flamingos, Hippo, Pythons. If you are lucky you may see: Lions, Leopards, Rhinos, Wild Dogs, Colobus Monkeys, and Cheetahs etc. In addition to its 400 species of birds, Lake Nakuru National Park is home to 50+ mammal species, and over 500 species of flora.

This park is famous for the flocks of Greater and Lesser Flamingos that gather around the lake, sometimes with as many as 2 million!

We have our lunch boxes at the Baboon Cliff viewpoint as we enjoy views of Lake Nakuru. Later we proceed on another game drive as we exit the park and drive back to Nairobi to arrive at 1830 Hours.

Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage Tour is a Nairobi Day excursion to a sanctuary for Orphaned Elephants, Rhinos and other animals located off Magadi Road Nairobi, Kenya.

Daphne Sheldrick Animal Orphanage, located in a secluded area of the Nairobi National Park, where orphaned baby elephants amongst other animals are taken care of by a dedicated team of conservationists.

The orphanage is run by Daphne Sheldrick, the wife of the late famous Naturalist, David William Sheldrick who was the founder Warden of Tsavo East National Park in Kenya from its inception in 1948 to 1976.

At 1100 Hours, the baby animals are brought from the National Park for a mud-bath at the orphanage, where for an hour you can get close to them and sometimes touch them.

You can visit between 1100 Hours and 1200 Hours every day and see the elephants being fed and playing. In addition, there is a keeper who will give a talk about the elephants, where they came from, how they are getting on, and how some of the previous orphans are progressing.

The private session strictly between 1500 Hours to 1600 Hours each day allows you to see the animals in private and you will be able to interact with them. This requires advance booking through African Spice Safaris.

Sheldrick Baby Elephant Orphanage is located inside the Nairobi National Park and the drive from the city centre takes approximately 45 minutes. The orphange is open for only an hour daily for the public.

You can get really close to the elephants. The orphanage also takes in rhinos and so if you are lucky you will get the chance to see a young rhino.

Nairobi Night Tour Carnivore Dinner Disco departs at 1800 Hours from your hotel/ residence. This tour features the Carnivore restaurant which is considered 'Africa’s Greatest Eating Experience' and the Simba Saloon Disco next door.

This open-air meat specialty restaurant has strikingly different food, service and atmosphere to anything ever seen in Kenya.

Every type of meat imaginable, including beef, lamb, pork, chicken, Turkey etc, are roasted on traditional Masai swords over a huge, visually spectacular charcoal pit that dominates the entrance of the restaurant.

The waiters then carry these swords around the restaurant, carving unlimited amounts of the prime meats onto sizzling, cast iron plates in front of you. A wide selection of salads, vegetable side dishes, and a variety of exotic sauces accompany the meat feast.

Dessert and coffee follow this. The full meal including a soup course is at a set price. After dinner we walk to the Simba Saloon which offers the nicest disco in Nairobi and is located at the Carnivore Restaurant on Langata Road.

The place is huge, with three separate bars, room outside and a large dance floor. This club would even be impressive if it was in America.

The disco is frequented by upper class Kenyans, expatriates and tourists. Wednesday night is Rock Night. Saturday night is Bombay Night and Sunday Night is 'Soul Night' with beats from the 80's.

The night club operates from Wednesday to Sunday and has themed nights to cater for fans of contemporary African music, rock, soul, jazz, Old Skool, and the latest hits.

The Simba Saloon is well known for hosting some of Africa's best musicians as well as many international ones such as Maxi Priest, Yellow man, Sadao Watanabe, Manu Dibango, Salif Keta, Chaka Demus and Pliers, Ismael Lo, and Habib Koite just to mention a few.

Tea Farm Day Tour Kiambethu Limuru is a half day trip to Kiambethu Tea Farm from Nairobi for an insight into life on a settler farm.

It includes tea tasting, 4 course farm-style lunch inclusive of drinks and an optional guided walk through indigenous forest in Limuru, Tigoni in Kenya.

Kiambethu Tea Farm is just 40 minutes from the heart of Nairobi in Limuru. On your arrival at the Kiambethu Tea Estate, you will be guests for lunch and afternoon tea.

The Kiambethu Estate is located at an altitude of 7000 feet above sea level, in a truly magnificent garden with views of the spectacular Mount Kilimanjaro and the Ngong hills and has lush acres of tea plantations that seem to vanish in the horizon.

1100 Hours: The tea farm day tour of Kiambethu in Limuru begins when guests arrive at the farm. The farm owner welcomes you and over a cup of tea you learn the history of the farm and the process of making tea.

The lecture on growth of tea is a good learning experience. For instance, you will see tea pickers on the farm plucking the top two leaves and bud from each plantation. Tea needs good rainfall, which is plenty in the region so tea is picked all year round.

After the tea is picked, they are sent to the factories to be processed and sold to local and export markets. Kenya is the third largest producer of tea after Sri Lanka and India.

1200 Hours: Take a walk to see tea in the field. You will also walk in the indigenous forest with our resident Kenyan guide who will identify the plants and explain how they are traditionally used.

Look out for the Colobus monkeys close up and wander in the gardens which are home to a wide variety of birds and flowers.

1300 Hours: Return to the house to enjoy a pre-lunch drink on the verandah with sweeping views across the tea fields to the Ngong Hills.

Lake Magadi Olorgesailie Pre-historic Site 1 Day Tour combines a visit to two interesting places, Olorgesailie Pre-historic site and Lake Magadi.

Olorgesailie Pre-historic site is located along Magadi road, an hour's drive (70 km's) away from Nairobi. Some further 30 km's south of Olorgesailie at the base of the Rift Valley is Lake Magadi.

The Olorgesailie Prehistoric site is Kenya's largest geological site. It is world renown as the "factory of stone tools" and has excellently preserved biological and cultural evidence of the evolution of man.  

On this tour we visit the Museum and Site. As we walk to see the actual site, a museum interpreter talks about the pre-historic site and the discoveries made here.

Later we then proceed to Lake Magadi (30 km's) located further south of Olorgesailie. Lake Magadi is a sodium carbonate alkaline lake located near the Kenya/ Tanzania border.

The lake has saline hot springs – up to around 80 degrees Celsius and is home to plenty of wading birds including flamingos.

The Magadi Township lies on the lakes east shore and is home to the Magadi Soda Factory, which is the major local employer. Lake Magadi is also featured in the film "The Constant Gardener" – although in the film it reports the lake as being Lake Turkana in Kenya’s far north.

 0730 Hours: Our Lake Magadi Olorgesailie Pre-historic Site 1 day tour departs from Nairobi after breakfast at your hotel/ residence. You drive south towards the Ngong Hills (made famous from Karen Blixen’s, movie "Out of Africa").

Just before we descend over the escarpment, we stop for photos and views of the Great Rift Valley. Descend over the Ngong Hills, we continuing south into a semi-arid landscape.

1000 Hours: Mid morning we arrive at the Olorgesailie Prehistoric Site.The site shows the evidence of human activity consistently between 1.2 million years to 400,000 years before present.

This is evidence that human species had a tropical origin and a higher primate group was confined to this part of the world. We learn about the previous inhabitants of the area.

1200 Hours: We continue onto Lake Magadi approaching it from the eastern side via Magadi town and past the Magadi Soda factory. We enter Lake Magadi Reserve area and continue onto the hot springs.

1300 Hours: We stop for lunch and wading in the springs (if the weather is not too hot). We may meet the local Maasai who use the lake daily for swimming.

It is possible to see animals around Magadi like zebra, gazelle, impala and warthog.

1500 Hours: Depart mid afternoon, returning to Nairobi.

1800 Hours: We arrive back in Nairobi and transfer you to your hotel/ residence.
