    Mount Kenya Lions Court Lodge Suites is located in the heart of Nanyuki Business District about 200 kilometers from Nairobi. It takes about 4 hours drive from Nairobi to the lodge. Nanyuki airstrip is 6 kilometers from the Lodge.

    There are 40 guestrooms comprising of standard rooms, cottages and deluxe rooms. Each room is fitted with a king size bed or 2 twin beds, satellite TV, armchair, clothes rack,  mosquito net, closet, and well-lit work table. The bathrooms are en-suite with bathtub or shower.

    The onsite restaurant serves blended local and international cuisines and ensures guests enjoy dining experience. The well stocked bar serves a wide selection of alcohol and soft drinks.

    The drive down to Kilifi offers beautiful scenery as you explore sights and sounds.  Our visit in Kilifi County begins by a visit to a local market called Kaloleni.

    At Kaloleni local market, to you will get to see where the local people shop for food stuff…meat, turkey, chicken and other poultry, seafood, eggs, milk, cheese, fresh fruits, vegetables, juices, nuts, grains and beans.

    Later we visit a local primary school, a local medicine man at work, Kaloleni Old Missionary church and Saint Luke's hospital run by Anglican Church missionaries.

    Other places of interest to visit time permitting include the Kenya Marine land, which offers an opportunity to observe numerous species of tropical marine life in giant aquariums.

    A snake park, situated nearby is also interesting to visit. You can watch carvers at work producing the famous “Makonde” pieces of art.

    The wood traditionally used comes from the African Blackwood tree also known as "Mozambique Ebony". It is extremely fine-grained and dark in color, and so ideally-suited for carving.

    The excursion continues to a mango and sisal plantation to see agricultural activities such as plantations of Mango, Banana, Sisal and Palm.

    The guide will show many trees of medicinal value such as the Neem tree, Aloe vera etc. After we visit the Porini village for a late local lunch followed by entertainment by traditional local dancers.

    After lunch, transfer back to your hotel arriving early evening.

    0830 Hours: Depart from your beach hotel in the morning and drive through the countryside to Kaloleni where you will be able to see flora, fauna, farmlands with houses and villages and the beautiful tropical countryside.

    Visit the local market in Kaloleni, deep in Giriama land where the people get their daily needs, like fruits, vegetables, clothes and any other household goods.

    There is also an opportunity to visit St. Lukes hospital run by missionary of the Anglican Church. From here continue through Chonyi land to a village in the lush coast vegetation.

    Visit the Primary School and see the way of life in the village, the local medicine man, the real Giriama life and taste the local brews.

    A visit to a local medicine man enlightens you on his practice as well as giving you a chance to get treated for various ailments and you also could try his famous love charms.

    Apart from the medicine man, you will also see different day-to-day activities in the villages.

    From there continue your excursion through the mango and sisal plantation on way to Porini Village for a late local lunch and entertainment with local dancers.

    A visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park is also included for a wildlife game-drive. This is an outstanding treasure of Uganda wildlife Game Park and named after Queen Elizabeth II visit in 1954.

    The park offers chances of seeing  tree climbing lions, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, water bucks to mention but a few.

    Both parks are relatively close to each other. Animals such as Elephants and chimpanzees cross back and forth between the two parks. They are found in western Uganda with easy access from Kampala – Fortpotal Highway.

    Kibale Forest National Park Chimpanzee are the most sought after primate by visitors, but you should look out for the black & white colobus, red tailed monkey or the grey cheeked mangabey.

    Your guides will be able to show you pittas & different bird species and will give details of the trait of the plant species within the forest. This walk is for 6 people in a group.

    Queen Elizabeth National Park has predators as lions, leopards, side stripped jackal and spotted hyena among others. Common Antelopes species include the kob, bush buck, topi and water buck.

    Day 1: Kampala Drive to Kibale Forest National Park
    0630 Hours: After breakfast at your hotel in Kampala, you begin your safari with our professional safari guide driving west to Fort Portal and on to Kibale Forest National Park. The journey takes about 6 to 7 hours (326 km's) from Kampala.

    The safari takes you both on asphalt and unpaved roads pass through traditional Ugandan villages where you see the locals tending their traditional crops of millet, sorghum, beans and maize.

    The lush rolling hills of this region provide good "photo opportunities". Along the way you also have chances of seeing birds such as the beautiful Gonoleks, Widow birds, Barbets, Eagles, Sun birds and Weaver birds that perch on the fence rows and power lines by the roadside.

    As you approach Fort Portal in the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains, you enter Uganda's famous tea plantation region.

    You arrive at Fort Portal, then, continue toward Kibale Forest one of the greatest African rainforest research reserves. This forest is famed for the variety of primates found here and it is a terrific area for birds.

    Day 2: Explore Kibale National Park
    0800 Hours: In the morning, after breakfast we report to the ranger station, Kanyanchu to track familiarized chimps.

    The search for chimpanzees and other primates will include not only Chimps but also an array of birds. The park boasts of a record of over 375 bird species.

    After lunch proceed to Bigodi Village. The Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is an fascinating area, located in Magombe swamp. The Bigodi is a paradise for bird watchers.

    This area is recognized for a extensive array of bio diversity among which are several primates species like the red colobus monkey, baboon, black & white colobus monkey, blue monkey grey cheeked, mangabey, vervet monkey, red tailed monkey and the L’Hoest monkey.

    Additional Mammals such as chimpanzees, sitatunga, mongooses, bush pigs, otters plus bush bucks etc.

    After a fun filled afternoon with the locals at Bigodi we shall return to our lodge for dinner and overnight.

    Day 3: Kibale – Visit Queen Elizabeth National Park – Drive to Kampala
    The starts with breakfast at your lodge then depart by road to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The Park is dominated on its northern border by the snow-capped 16,000-foot Rwenzori Mountains-the famed "Mountains of the Moon".

    This 767-square-mile conservation area is bordered on the North East by Lake George and on the South West by Lake Edward; its western border adjoins the Zaire Parc Du Virunga.

    You will see teeming herds of impala-like Uganda Kob, as well as topi, elephant and lion, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo.

    Return back to Kampala passing through Mbarara, where you will have lunch. Arrive late evening.

    Kongoni Camp Nanyuki is set in a cedar cypress forest glade, with Mt Kenya as an iconic backdrop in Nanyuki and less than 2 kilometers from Nanyuki Town. The camp is about 196 kilometers from Nairobi and it takes about 4 hours drive.

    There are 22 guestrooms comprising of 17 single and double rooms and 5 rondavels.  The single rooms and doubles rooms are tastefully furnished and feature a work desk and en-suite bathrooms.

     Kicheche Laikipia Camp Ol Pejeta Conservancy  is located in the centre of the 110,000 acre Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which lies on the Laikipia Plains.

    The camp is  217 km from Nairobi and 14 km from Nanyuki Town. Transfers by road from Nairobi take approximately 4 hours.

    There are 6 luxurious tents nestled at the foot of indigenous forest overlooking a large waterhole. Each tent is elegantly furnished and has  insect proof netting, Persian rugs, clothes rack and seating area.

    The bathrooms are en-suite with flush toilet, shower and twin wash basins set on a large wooden vanity cabinet. There are also verandah  with comfy chairs and stylish African-fabric cushions that looks out towards the waterhole.

    The main mess tent is spacious and has dining area, with a large wooden table cedar wood. Meals served are local and international.

    There is also a brick fireplace which makes for a delightfully cozy ambience during dinner on chilly evenings.

    Ken Trout Guest Cottages Timau lies in the foothills of Mt. Kenya in the village of Timau, just north of Nanyuki. Nairobi is approximately 222 kilometers away and it takes about 5 hours drive. Nanyuki to the cottages is about 22 kilometers.

    Trout Guest Cottages main house is an old building full of charm. The main house accommodates up to 6 guests and features old plank floors, brick fire places, kitchenette, dining room and verandah.

    There are 2 cottages which either be occupied as double rooms or triple rooms. One cottage has 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room and veranda. All rooms have open fireplaces. Guests have the option of preparing their own meals.

    Day 1: Kampala Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
    0700 Hours: After breakfast at your hotel in Kampala, our safari driver guide will meet you for the start of your safari to Lake Bunyonyi via Mbarara to Kabale South Western Uganda.

    This will be an interesting 6-hour drive through three different types of vegetation. The first two hours will take you through typical tropical countryside with large swamps, Mpanga Forest, and the Equator.

    Here you will make a brief stop-over and stride the northern and southern hemisphere! Thereafter, you will drive through the flat savannah country where you are likely to observe the famous long-horned Ankole cows.

    1300 Hours: We shall make a lunch stop at Mbarara before continuing through the impressive hilly country of Kabale, popularly known as "the Switzerland of Uganda", and arrive at Lake Bunyonyi, one of the deepest lakes in the world, late afternoon.

    This Lake is surrounded by steep mountains and dotted with small Islands among which is Ha'Buharo Island; your destination.

    We shall transport you with a motor boat to your lodge, a 25 minutes boat ride.

    Day 2: Explore Lake Bunyonyi (Community Tour and Boat Ride)
    0800 Hours: After breakfast, visit the distinctive Batwa and Abaheesi (black smiths) societies or to the Bukora Cave.

    1300 Hours: Have lunch at the resort and enjoy the afternoon on a boat ride, canoeing or go for a cycling tour around the area.

    You also have the option of visiting the Orugano rain Forest which has diverse plants and animals or spend some time interacting with the Batwa (pygmies) community who inhabit parts of the forest and its surrounding areas.

    Birders will treat themselves with well over 300 bird species recorded. Like Otters, pied kingfishers, swallows among others.

    Alternative a full-day canoe trek on Bunyonyi will introduce you to the major islands and their rich history, but also to a traditional healer and a craft maker who live on a peninsula with most complete views of the 25-kilometres long lake.

    There will be some little energetic hiking but also great time spent in traditional dugout canoes. If you don’t go for a boat cruise you could opt for cycling around the area.

    Our 3 Days 2 Night Semuliki National Park Safari takes you to Semuliki National Park which offers one of the best birding destinations in Uganda.

    This safari will begin and ends in Kampala Uganda’s capital and largest city and is a 6 to 7 hours drive to Semuliki National Park from Kampala.

    Semuliki National Park is located in Bwamba County, a remote part of Bundibugyo District near Fortpotal in Western Uganda.

    Semuliki is the only park in Uganda of mainly tropical flat forest, it has the most diverse habitats in Africa with wonderful examples of Riparian forest, gallery rain forest, and short and high grass savannas.

    The park highlights include unique bird life – with over 435 bird species mainly West Africa forest species.

    The most spectacular birds are the 4 Hornbill species (White Crested, Red Dwarf, Black Dwarf and Wattled Casque) to be seen nowhere else in Uganda.

    Red Rumped Tinker Bird is also an localized endemic as is Palm Greenbul. A series of trails has been developed in the forest to provide access for birders.

    Semuliki National Park is also admired for its night game drives.  At night game drive can be quite rewarding with sightings of nocturnal dwellers such as the white tailed mongoose, slender mongoose, nightjars, leopards, cats, hyenas etc.

    Semuliki National Park has over 63 mammals including elephants, buffaloes, flying squirrels, pygmy antelope and six types of bats, 9 primates (chimpanzee, blue monkey, vervet monkeys, baboon).

    Hippos and crocodiles can be seen along Semliki River. The park has least 374 species of butterflies.

    Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Semuliki National Park
    0700 Hours: After breakfast at your hotel in Kampala depart by road to Semuliki National Park. The park is is located in the southwestern part of Uganda in Bundibugyo district along the Easter side of the eastern side of Lake Albert 330 km (6 hour drive) from Kampala City Uganda.

    1230 Hours: You will have a brief lunch hour break at Fort Portal town before proceeding to the park. Enjoy the striking scenes of the Western Albertine rift valley as you drive to Bundibugyo town.

    Semuliki National Park is next to western border of Uganda and Congo Republic next to Lake Albert and covers the eastern part of the Ituri forest joining Uganda and Congo River separated by the Semliki River.

    Semuliki is an ornithologist’s haven having about 400 bird species mostly forest birds. There are 300 tree species recorded nowhere else in East Africa and 53 mammal species with 11 diurnal species.

    2100 Hours: A night game-drive is planned today after dinner where one could see big cats, the slender and white- tailed mongoose, serval cats and diminutive nightjars among others.

    Day 2: Explore Semuliki National Park
    We will begin with the most eye-catching item in Semuliki, the Sempaya hot springs. These natural springs have a geyser shooting up from an 8 meters-wide hole at a hot temperature. It’s the largest of its kind in Uganda.

    Along the same trail, you can recognize quite a number of bird species like blue –breasted kingfisher and Frasier’s ant-thrush and primates like the grey-checked mangabey and red-tailed monkey.

    Continue to Mungilo waterfall and see more attractive birds specially if you are a birder. Alternatively you can opt to go down into the stunning gallery rainforest to track wild chimpanzees.

    Chimps are tracked by researchers in Semliki at dawn and dusk, as they tend to disappear in the middle of the day.

    1300 Hours: Then you will return to the lodge for lunch and have some time to relax by the pool and enjoy the tranquility of your accommodations.

    Late afternoon you will go for a game drive where you expect to see elephants, buffalo, leopard, lions, antelopes, big cats among other. Hippos and crocodiles can be seen along Semliki River.
