10 Days Kenya Meru Samburu Masai Mara Luxury Flying Safari takes you to explore three exciting reserves of Kenya – Meru National Park, Shaba National Reserve, and Masai Mara Game Reserve.
Elsa’ Kopje camp in Meru is named after Elsa the lioness, made famous by George and Joy Adamson’s biographical book and film ‘Born Free‘.
Meru is also home to over 40 white rhinos and 20 black rhinos. Joy’s Camp in Shaba is built on the site of Joy Adamson’s tented home.
The verdant oasis watering hole in front of the camp is a magnet for herds of elephants and buffalo, and many guests have witnessed cheetah hunts from their tents!
Both these reserves offer an opportunity to enjoy the Kenyan wilderness away from the crowds and provide an entirely different terrain from what you will experience in the Masai Mara.
This dry rugged wilderness features bubbling hot springs, rolling savannas, and miles of scrub and desert.
The Mara is of course the pinnacle of most safaris to Kenya and a stay at Richard’s Camp will ensure secluded game viewing from the camp which is in a lawned grove of trees overlooking the Mara plains.

Safari Itinerary in Detail
Day 1: Nairobi Arrival
On arrival into Nairobi at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met and transferred to House of Waine. This is an 11-bedroom boutique hotel in Karen, a suburb of Nairobi, renowned for fine decor and its quiet location.
It is closely located to the Giraffe Centre, Nairobi National Park Daphne Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage, etc.

Days 2 – 4: Meru National Park
After an early breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up at 06:15 from House of Waine and transferred to Wilson Airport to depart with the scheduled flight to Meru National Park at 08:00.
Upon arrival at 08:45, you will be met by our Driver Guide and proceed on a game drive en route to the lodge.
Activities include day and night game drives, guided bush walks, bush meals, cultural visits, sundowners, fishing, and massage. This untamed wilderness is renowned for its rhino sightings and rare northern species.

Days 5 – 6: Shaba National Reserve
Depart Joy’s Camp at 10:00 am with a private charter aircraft to Shaba Game Reserve. On arrival at the Chaffa airstrip, our driver/ guide will meet you and transfer you to Joy’s Camp.
This luxurious camp has 10 chic canvas bedrooms with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and overlooking a large natural spring.
Activities include game drives, bush meals on the Ewaso Nyiro River, cultural visits, and sundowners. The camp is ideal for private game viewing as well as relaxing, reading, and soaking up the truly wild environs offered by Shaba.

Days 7 – 9: Masai Mara Game Reserve
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for our scheduled flight at 9.00 am to the Masai Mara, which offers a true wildlife experience, hard to duplicate anywhere else in the world.
From the airstrip, you will be transferred to Richard’s Camp, a traditional tented camp in true safari style with modern surprises.
Day and night game drives, breakfasts out on the savannah, sundowners, bush meals, bush walks, and cultural visits are all included in the rates.

Day 10: Masai Mara – Fly Nairobi – Depart
One last game drive in the Masai Mara before breakfast then depart for the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi.
