Serian’s Serengeti Mobile Lamai Camp Tanzania

Serian’s Serengeti Lamai is a cozy little mobile camp located in the open plains of the Lamai Wedge in the northern part of the Serengeti National park from mid-June to mid-November.

There are more than  1.8 million wildebeest crossing back and forth over the Mara River, in search of grazing. Away from the river, this area of rolling savannah, boulder-strewn hillsides, and fig-tree groves, is littered with enormous herds of wildebeest.

The camp is just a mere kilometer from the Mara River above Crossing Point 4, midway among all crossing points along the river, and is perfectly positioned to spectate the wildebeest river crossings. There are daily scheduled flights departing Arusha to Kogatende Airstrip which is only a 15-minute drive from the camp.

Serian’s Serengeti Lamai has 6(4 tents, and 2 suites) comfortable and intimate tents set among Acacias. Each has an en-suite bathroom with a flushing toilet, bucket shower, clothes rack, seating area, work desk, and deck furniture.

The intimacy of this little camp makes it perfect for families or privately guided groups and can be booked on an exclusive basis. There is a dining tent, Laundry, Gift shop, Charging facilities, bar, campfire, 24hr electricity powered by a generator & Wheelchair friendly.

Lamai’s mess tent boasts lovely views of the river and surrounding landscape. It contains a lounge area and a dining area, separated by a bar. The lounge has some very comfy velvety chairs and sofas around a chunky wooden coffee table, as well as a colorful rug, animal prints on the walls, and a selection of books for guests to enjoy.

In the dining area, there is a large oval table surrounded by directors’ chairs, where everyone eats together. Further seating is set up just outside the tent, while the fire pit is set up a short distance away. This is the perfect place for sinking a sundowner and sharing your safari stories!

Delicious meals are enjoyed in the homely mess tent and are sometimes hosted by Alex Walker himself! Electricity is provided by a 24-hour generator, but there is no Wi-Fi here and no mobile phone signal. Just being in nature is the most important thing!
