3 Days 2 Nights Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari | 3 Day Fly-in Safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park | 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Safari | 3 Day Queen Elizabeth National Park Tour | 3 days Queen Elizabeth National Park Wildlife Safari | 3 Day Kampala Safaris Uganda | Uganda Safari & Tours
This 3-day Uganda Safari takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s premier game-viewing destination and the best place to see lions including the tree-climbing lions. It prides itself in a great diversity of habitats that include: lakes, savannah grasslands, forests, and wetlands that serve as home to the biggest variety of large mammals in the country.
Queen Elizabeth National Park offers a diverse range of safari activities. A boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel is almost a must-do, given the rewarding game viewing and bird watching en route, while Kyambura Gorge offers a green sliver of forest to explore, home to chimpanzees and other primates.
The tour begins from the capital of Uganda, Kampala with a drive to Queen Elizabeth National park, located about 410km/255 miles away. The drive takes 6 to 8 hours. The park is located in the western part of Uganda laying between Lakes Gorge and Albert with the Kazinga Channel crossing through its 700 sq mile land area. On arrival, we enjoy a game drive en route to our accommodations.
Day two is spent exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park on game drives. We explore the Kasenyi trail (also known as Mweya). On this trail, you will see Elephants, Waterbucks, Lions, Buffaloes, Uganda Kobs Bushbuck, Topi, and Warthogs. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded including; the Black bee-eater, 11 types of Kingfisher, several species of falcons, eagles, and raptors, and many more.
In the afternoon we enjoy a 2 hours boat ride on the Kazinga Channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward, getting up close to hippos, buffalos, and other wildlife. The boat trip offers excellent bird-watching opportunities, as well as the chance to see elephants, warthogs, and Kob antelopes.
The banks of the channel are home to a rich variety of birds, including Pink-backed Pelicans, Pied and Malachite Kingfishers, and Saddle-billed Stork, Pink-backed Pelicans, on the banks and in trees.
On day three we travel to the nearby Chambura (Kyambura) gorge located in the park for a Chimpanzee tracking tour. The morning chimpanzee trek is an optional extra activity into the forested gorge, known as the Valley of Apes, in the eastern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Walking into the lush rainforest of tangled vines, buzzing with life, you are highly likely to see chimpanzees at close range. Although chimp sightings are not guaranteed, visitors stand a pretty good chance of hearing and seeing our distant cousins as they are habituated.
Other primates also hang out in these trees including Red-tailed Monkeys, Blue monkeys, Black and White colobus monkeys, and Olive Baboons among others as well as a rich array of birds.
Chimpanzee tracking tours last between one and three hours and start at 8 am and 2 pm daily. After trekking chimpanzees in the biodiverse rainforest, we make our way to Entebbe or Kampala where our 3 Days 2 Nights Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari comes to an end.
