This is a short 3 day Uganda beach holiday from Kampala to Ssese Islands in Lake Victoria located in the northwestern part of Uganda’s waters, perfect for anyone looking to relax and get away from it all. The Ssese Islands are an archipelago of 84 islands in the northwestern part of Lake Victoria in Uganda the second-largest freshwater lake in the world. The island boasts some stunning white-sand beaches and is the place to slow it right down. The largest island in the archipelago is called Bugala Island.
The largest town is called Kalangala which is located approximately 51 kilometers (32 miles), across the water, southwest of Entebbe. The most popular route that the islands can be accessed is through Nakiwogo near Entebbe by MV Kalangala – a ferry service from Entebbe to Kalangala/ Ssese Islands and back.
Transfer between Nakiwogo and Bugala Island is usually 3½ hours. The Moving Vessel MV Kalangala ferry leaves Entebbe daily at 1400 Hours arriving in Ssese at 1730 Hours. The ferry leaves Kalangala for the return route the following day at 0800 Hours at Nakiwogo in Entebbe at 1130 Hours.
There’s a myriad of activities to do while visiting the Ssese Islands which include, sport fishing, mountain biking – ATV quad biking, cultural village tours, bird watching, golf, hiking, and forest nature walks.
More things to do while on the Island include canoe rides, boat trips, Island tours on a motorcycle (Bodaboda) or car, sunset cruises, beach fires, barbeques, or just relax and chill out on the Ssese Islands.

Day 1: Kampala – Transfer to Entebbe – Take Ferry Services to Ssese Islands of Lake Victoria
0800 Hours: Breakfast at leisure followed by some rest time then drive to Entebbe to board the ferry boat which will take you to Ssese Islands, an archipelago of 84 Islands on Lake Victoria.
1100 Hours: Visit the wonders of the botanical garden in Entebbe. You will have an early lunch in Entebbe before proceeding to the landing site. Later transfer to Nakiwogo from here that you will wait to board a ferry (MV Kalangala Ship) connecting to the Ssese Islands of Lake Victoria.
1400 Hours: Ferry departs Entebbe pier to Ssese islands a 3-hour journey. You will then be transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Explore the Ssese Islands of Lake Victoria
This morning after breakfast we go for a forest walk to enjoy some of Uganda’s Natural forests with plenty of wildlife. This walk will reward you with games like Monkeys, Baboons, Butterflies, and good scenery.
After the walk, go back to the lodge for lunch, and then in the afternoon swim in the clean waters of the Island shores or learn how to ride a Bodaboda if you already don’t know. You will also visit some of the fishing villages and have a look at the different types of fish caught and the methods used.
Alternatively, you can choose to relax by the hotel or enjoy some of the activities at the islands like sunbathing, bird watching, sport fishing, nature walks, primate walks, community projects, etc.

Day 3: Ssese Islands of Lake Victoria – Take Ferry Services to Bugala – Drive to Kampala
After breakfast transfer to the Luuku landing site and board the ferry to the Bukakata landing site on Lake Victoria. The ferry departs at 0800 Hours from Bugala and arrives in Entebbe at 1100 Hours. You will then drive back to Kampala. You will reach in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight at your hotel or residence.
