Chui Lodge Naivasha is an exclusive African safari oasis tucked away in the heart of the privately-owned 18,000-acre Oserengoni Wildlife Sanctuary (formerly Kongoni Game Sanctuary). Nestled within an indigenous forest overlooking the Mau escarpment, the lodge sits above the shimmering shores of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. Designed and created by June Zwager, the lodge’s vision was brought to life with the help of the local community and skilled craftsmen.

The beautifully crafted sanctuary is built from simple bush stone, Acacia, Olive, and Leleshwa wood, all sustainably sourced directly from within the sanctuary. Every piece of furniture has been hand-crafted at the onsite wood workshop, adding a unique African flair to the space. With abundant space and privacy, time here moves slowly, allowing guests to completely lose themselves in the African bush while enjoying a seamless blend of luxury and untamed nature.

Chui Lodge Naivasha is located within the 72 km² Oserengoni Wildlife Sanctuary, off Moi South Lake Road, approximately a 10-minute drive from Lake Oloidien.

Chui Lodge is set in a privately-owned Oserengoni Wildlife Sanctuary in Naivasha. Oserian Wildlife Sanctuary was formerly called Kongoni Game Sanctuary in Naivasha. The lodge is effortlessly accessible from Nairobi by road, only 100 km away, and the drive takes 1.5 hours.

Chui Lodge has its own private Airstrip nearby, and charter flights from Nairobi take approximately 20 Minutes. Oserengoni Wildlife Sanctuary is a privately owned 18,000-acre paradise of flora and fauna. It is home to a diversity of wildlife, including Leopard, Grevy’s Zebra, Masai Giraffe, Bat-eared fox, Buffalo, Hyena, Aardvark, and many other plains game.

The wildlife sanctuary and surrounding lakeshore are home to over 400 bird species, including African Fish Eagle, Narina Trogon, Grey-crested Helmet-shrike, Rufous-crowned Roller, Spotted Eagle-Owl, and Somali Ostrich. Chui Lodge is suitable for leisure travellers who want to experience Africa’s savanna firsthand. 

There are 8 en-suite, individually spaced, luxurious cottages, each with its own veranda and views of the Rift Valley escarpment and the sanctuary. The Lodge is built from simple bush stone, Acacia, Olive, and Leleshwa wood, all sustainably sourced from within the sanctuary.

All furniture has been handcrafted at our onsite wood workshop, and every piece is unique and adds to the African flair of Chui Lodge. Three of these rooms, Oserian, Oloidien, and Shemeji, are deluxe and offer greater privacy, large, cosy sitting rooms, and a minibar. Free Wi-Fi is provided for all guests.

Enjoy international-standard cuisine in the shade of our acacia trees whilst you watch the wildlife drinking from the nearby waterhole. The dining room, lounge, and bar area feature pillars and murals with intricate African carvings, African antiques, and ochre-colored walls, creating the feel of an artist’s gallery.

A short walk from the main building and cottages is a large swimming pool with views across the waterhole and the wildlife sanctuary beyond. Having a refreshing dip in the pool while watching herds of giraffes walk down to drink is a unique memory you will keep forever.
