Mahindu Cottages Malu Lodge Naivasha

Mahindu Cottages are self-catering cottages located in an 1800-acre indigenous forest reserve (Malu Forest Sanctuary), with sweeping views over the Great Rift Valley.

The cottages are situated within the stunning grounds of Mahindu Farmhouse, beside the Mahindu stream and about 5 min drive from the Malu Lodge. Naivasha is about 14 kilometers from the cottages.

Mahindu Cottages has 2 cottages that were built in the 1940s by Italian prisoners of War (POWs), and looked after and lived in for many years by Janine who came to Kenya chasing a dream for a Parisian Lioness many years ago.

The two Mahindu cottages offer a luxurious contemporary feel, each having a large en-suite double bedroom. The cottages and situated within the stunning grounds of Mahindu Farmhouse, beside the Mahindu stream and just a 5 min drive from the main lodge.

Feel free to enjoy the gardens of Mahindu farmhouse, which stretch upstream for some way if you cross the little wooden bridge over the Mahindu (a particularly good stream for children to have fun in!).

The Mahindu Cottages is taken on a self-catering basis but Meals can be taken at the main lodge restaurant. Each cottage has a contemporary feel and features a well-furnished living room, dining room, large en-suite double room.

The cottages have well-equipped kitchens where guests have the option of preparing their own meals or dining in the onsite restaurant that specializes in Italian style. Meals are prepared from home-grown vegetables and herbs. Vegetarians are happily catered for on request.

Mahindu Cottages Malu Lodge Malu Forest Sanctuary Naivasha has a spring-fed plunge pool built into the Mahindu River.

Mahindu Cottages Malu Lodge activities include;  mountain biking, Trout fishing, ridge walks, horse and donkey riding, sundowners, bush breakfasts, night game drives, farm animals feeding, nature walks, and bird watching.

Areas of interest near the cottages include Lake Nakuru National Park, Mt Longonot, Mt Suswa, Lake Naivasha, Crescent Island, and Hell’s Gate National Park.
