0600 Hours: Pickup & Transfer – Pickup from your accommodation in/near Nanyuki or Lewa for transfer to the airstrip
0645 Hours: Departure  – Takeoff from Nanyuki Airfield or Lewa Airstrip at first light for optimal flying conditions
0700 Hours: Scenic Flight (Mount Kenya) – Fly over diverse vegetation zones (rainforest to alpine) toward the peaks of Batian (5,199m) and Nelion
0800 Hours: Wilderness Landing – Touch down at a secluded spot like Lake Michaelson or Lake Alice on Mount Kenya for a scenic stop
0815 Hours: Bush Breakfast – Enjoy a picnic breakfast and refreshments in the crisp mountain air; optional fly fishing for rainbow trout

1 Day Lewa Downs Helicopter Scenic Flight Safari takes you by air into Kenya’s northern frontier towards the Aberdare Mountain range, and you enjoy views of the stunning Karuru and Gura Waterfalls.

Your helicopter flight continues by air over the Aberdare National Park before you make your approach to Mount Kenya. Weather permitting, explore the peaks, lakes, and valleys of this prolific Mountain. 

East of Mount Kenya, your Pilot will choose an ideal spot to land before proceeding to your final drop-off at your camp/ lodge. Lewa Wildlife Conservancy (also known as Lewa Downs) is located south of Isiolo town and north of Mount Kenya.

The Conservancy is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including the rare and endangered black rhino, Grevy’s zebra, and sitatunga. It also includes the big five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and African buffalo).
