2.) Trip to Lake Magadi: Photograph the flamingos.
3.) Day trip to Lake Victoria: via Ruma National Park

1 Day Maasai Mara Helicopter Scenic Flight Safari departs from Wilson Airport and heads south towards the Nguruman Escarpment. This is an incredibly lush, indigenous forest protected within the Nguruman Hills, which is home to a large number of Colobus monkeys and the smaller Mountain Elephants.

View the Ewaso Nyiro River flowing southward along the foot of the escarpment and catch sight of the stunning waterfalls rarely accessed from the ground.

There is an abundance of wildlife and scenery to take in on this route, including the Suswa Crater (a dormant volcano within the Rift Valley), with an option of a flight within the crater offering fantastic photo opportunities of the lava flows.

The Maasai Mara is Kenya’s most famous nature reserve and one of the settings for the film Out of Africa. It is a classic savannah – grasslands, where animals are plentiful and the vistas spectacular. In this dreamlike land, animals live in freedom, and the Maasai tend their cattle.

The area, also known as the “Jewel of Africa,” has one of the largest and most spectacular animal migrations in the world. The reserve is known for its large wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, leopards, black rhinos, and hippos.

Maasai Mara National Reserve is located in the southwest of Kenya, bordering the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.

0600 Hours – 0700 Hours: Pick up from your Nairobi hotel/residence and transfer to Wilson Airport.

0730 Hours – 0830 Hours: Scenic helicopter flight over the Great Rift Valley, viewing escarpments and lakes, landing at a Mara airstrip.

0830 Hours – 1230 Hours: Bush breakfast followed by a morning game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve, focusing on big cats and, during migration season, the Mara River.

1230 Hours – 1400 Hours: Picnic lunch or lunch at a luxury lodge.

1400  Hours – 16 00 Hours: Afternoon game drive or low-altitude scenic flight over the Mara plains for unparalleled wildlife photography.

1600 Hurs – 1700 Hours: Final helicopter transfer back to Nairobi Wilson Airport.
