10 Day Fly-in Safari Kenya & Uganda Samburu Masai Mara & Bwindi

10 Day Fly-in Safari Kenya & Uganda Samburu Masai Mara & Bwindi Gorillas; It is easy to combine Kenya with Uganda. This trip idea combines two of Kenya’s top safari destinations with Uganda’s best destination for gorilla trekking – Bwindi Forest National Park.

The trip begins with a flight to Kalama Conservancy, on the border of Samburu National Reserve with 200 000 acres of unspoilt wilderness for you to explore. Built into and around a giant volcanic rock face with unbelievable views Saruni Samburu luxury lodge is a breath-taking property with spectacular views over the Northern Frontier District and Mount Kenya.

Go on morning and evening game drives to look for classic African animals in three of the surrounding reserves. Spend the afternoon at the river with a picnic or walk with Samburu warriors and explore the Kalama mountains and rock art on foot. And after the day’s programme, relax and revive at the spa overlooking the Kalama Conservancy or take a dip in one of the two swimming pools, which have amazing views.

From the Samburu, fly to the Masai Mara for three nights at Saruni Mara luxury lodge or Saruni Wild Tented Camp. Both camps are tucked away in private Conservancies (Mara North Conservancy and Lemek Conservancy) bordering the Mara. Here, you can encounter the huge variety of game virtually uninterrupted by other vehicles in the immense quietness and emptiness of this secret corner of the reserve.

The Bwindi Forest is the best place in Uganda to go gorilla trekking and although it may take hours, or even the whole day, the daily success rate for sightings is around 90 percent. Once you locate a habituated family group, you will spend roughly an hour observing quietly from a respectful distance.

We stay for three nights at Bwindi eco-lodge, a luxury accommodation that overlooks the forest canopy of Uganda’s beautiful Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Aside from gorilla trekking enjoy other activities such as guided rainforest walks, or cultural activities such as tea tasting, community visits, and learning the traditional practices of the Batwa people.
