10 Days Kenya Samburu Laikipia Lake Nakuru Mara Wildlife Safari covers from the northern side of the country to the south of Kenya.

Samburu National Reserve is an unfenced savannah grassland famed for where conservationists George and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the Lioness.

Sweetwaters/Ol Pejeta Conservancy is situated between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares and features have over 10000 large mammals and it is the only park where the big 5 and chimpanzees can be seen.

Lake Nakuru National Park lies on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland. The park features ecological diversity and varied habitats.

Masai Mara National Reserve is situated in south-west Kenya and one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves.

Safari Itinerary in Detail

Day 1: Nairobi – Drive to Samburu Game Reserve

After breakfast, depart for Samburu National Reserve and arrive in time for lunch. The wild and rugged, Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannahs watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River.

After lunch proceeds for an afternoon game drive in the famous park.

It is a home for the reticulated giraffe, the Grevy’s zebra gerenuk, beisa Oryx, and a host of the big game including elephant and lion. Return to the camp for dinner and accommodation

Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve

Dawn breaks in golden bands as we start our day in the bush by scanning the river from our tent’s veranda with a cup of steaming coffee in hand.

Before the dew is off the grass, we’re off in pursuit of the elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs that thrive in the reserve’s grasslands and acacia woodlands.

And so the day is spent in alternating pursuits of exploration in the bush and relaxation in our cozy camp.

Day 3: Samburu – Drive to Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary

Today we travel to the exotic Sweetwaters Tented Camp or Porini Rhino Camp in the secluded heart of Ol Pejeta Ranch and Rhino Reserve.

Here, these magnificent beasts are given sanctuary from those who would take their lives to sell their horns.

Here too, the Jane Goodall Institute operates a remarkable Chimpanzee Sanctuary where we meet the primates face-to-face. Our camp also overlooks one of the busiest waterholes in the area and offers elephant, giraffe, and myriad plains game.

This is Africa as Teddy Roosevelt saw it years ago when he led one of the first safaris to tour Africa in comfort and splendor. Our tents at Sweetwaters or Porini Rhino Camp will remind us of this bygone era.

Day 4: Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary – Mount Kenya Safari Club

After breakfast, we depart for Mount Kenya Safari Club. This exclusive club offers an experience of refined elegance and luxury, as well as a sense of old Hollywood thanks to its glamorous past.

All of the amenities you would expect from a fine establishment are here, including horse stables, golf, trout streams, tennis, and a sauna. Fine dining, gracious hospitality, and superb accommodations are sure to be highlights of our stay.

Day 5: Mount Kenya Safari Club – Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park

Today we travel to the exotic Lake Nakuru National Park located in the Great Rift Valley. After lunch, an exciting game run is planned for the afternoon.

The game in this park is plentiful and the magnificent bird watching will make a devotee out of even the most reluctant.

The Park is home to stunning flocks of lesser and Greater Flamingos, which literally turn the lakeshores in to a magnificent pink stretch.

The birdlife here is world-renowned and over 400 bird species exist here, White Pelicans, Plovers, Egrets, and Marabou Stork.

It is also one of the very few places in Africa to see the white Rhino and rare Rothschild Giraffe.

Day 6: Explore Lake Nakuru National Park

An early morning game drive before breakfast to try to find leopard which is frequently sighted in Lake Nakuru Park and return to the lodge for breakfast.

After breakfast you will take a further drive to seek out the 2 species of rhino found in the park, returning before lunch.

The afternoon is at leisure, relaxing by the lodge swimming pool before an evening game drive in the park.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru – Drive to the Masai Mara Game Reserve

This morning we drive through the dramatic Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve.

This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration and is home of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo, and Rhino.

Lunch at our Lodge and relax before departing for the afternoon game run. The Mara Game Reserve-one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Large mammals are varied and easy to see.

Residents among the Park’s are Masai Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland, and thousand of plain games including Impala, Zebra, Topi, both Thomson’s, and grants Gazelles.

Day 8 & Day 9: Discover Masai Mara Game Reserve

The search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues today and tomorrow during extensive game runs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs.

During our stay, we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Masai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals.

A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience.

Day 10: Masai Mara – Drive to Nairobi
