This 13 Day Kenya & Tanzania Fly-in Safari is a perfect holiday combination that delivers the very best of Africa in one trip. Spend a few days exploring the African bush by jeep in Kenya and Tanzania as you search of the Big Five, and then end your holiday on a high note lounging on a palm-fringed beach or swim with dolphins, enjoy some scuba & snorkeling in the beaches of Zanzibar.
Starting in Nairobi and ending in Dar-es-salaam, the tour includes flights and inter-camp transport (and most game drives) by private 4×4 safari vehicle.
Begin your bush and beach safari with a flight to Mara Naboisho Conservancy, a private conservancy located in adjacent to the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. With its high concentration of wildlife, and low tourism density, Mara Naboisho offers its guests exceptional wildlife encounters – both day and night.
Spend 3 nights at the Encounter Mara, a luxury eco-camp enjoying day and night drives, hot-air balloon rides, community visits and photographic safaris.
Next you fly across the border to the Serengeti in Tanzania and stay for 3 nights at Ubuntu Migration Camp, a small traditional mobile camp that moves three times (north, west and south of the Serengeti) a year to optimize the chance of witnessing the wildebeest migration.
Activities here include morning and afternoon wildlife drives, off-road driving, cultural interactions and walks, all of which showcase an array of wildlife from wildebeest, zebra and gazelle to predators, birds and a variety of plains mammals.
Fly south to the lesser known Ruaha National Park and stay for 3 nights at Kwihala camp, an intimate six-bedroom camp where simple excellence is the order of the day. The camp’s location alternates between two sites, making sure that the camp is always in an unspoiled setting.
Ruaha National Park is known for its large elephant and Cape buffalo herds, greater and lesser kudu, sable and roan antelope. There are high numbers of predators including: lion, leopard, cheetah and the increasingly rare African wild dog.
Finally unwind on the white sandy beaches of Zanzibar, swimming in the warm Indian Ocean. Stay at Matemwe Lodge, a small luxury resort with 12 private bungalows suites overlooking Mnemba Atol located on the quiet north-east coast of Zanzibar.
Matemwe Lodge offers snorkeling, sailing, sea-kayaking or scuba diving, and it is simple to arrange tours to take in the rest of Zanzibar’s sights such as Stone Town, Jozani Forest, Prison Island and fragrant spice plantations.
