Day 1: Nairobi Fly to Samburu Game Reserve

Day 1: Nairobi Fly to Samburu Game Reserve

0700 Hours: After breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi, we transfer to Wilson Airport Nairobi for your scheduled flight to the Samburu National Reserve.

0830 Hours: Depart on a scheduled flight to the Samburu National Reserve. Wild and rugged, Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannahs watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River.

0955 Hours: Arrive in Samburu National Reserve at an airstrip followed by a transfer to you to your lodge/ camp with a short safari game drive en route.

1230 Hours: Check-in at the hotel and lunch follows. Later relax and explore the camps/ lodge grounds.

1500 Hours: Enjoy a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate before the afternoon safari drive.

1530 Hours: Depart for the afternoon game drive. Animals found in Samburu, namely: cheetahs, lions, leopards, impalas, buffalo, hippos, and dik-diks, as well as the native gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe and Beisa Oryx.

You are guaranteed to see most animals during the dry season as they converge at the Usaso Nyiro River, their main source of water during the long dry weather. Elephants are also spotted during this time, and you can watch the Nile crocodiles swim in the river.

1830 Hours: Return back to your camp/ lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve – Fly to Nairobi City

0630 Hours: Depart for an early morning game drive. Game viewing includes elephants, hippos, lions, leopards and cheetahs.

0830 Hours: Return to the lodge/ Camp for breakfast.

0930 Hours: You can opt to visit a Samburu Village to enjoy their rich culture and buy beautiful ornaments while on safari or relax at the lodge.

1045 Hours: Transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Nairobi

1120 Hours: Your flight from Samburu to Nairobi departs.

1305 Hours: Arrive in Nairobi and transfer to your residence/ Hotel.
