Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park

0630 Hours – 0700 Hours: Pick up from Nairobi hotel/airport and depart for Lake Nakuru
0900 Hours – 0930 Hours: Brief stop at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint for photos
1100 Hours – 1300 Hours: Enter Lake Nakuru National Park for a mid-morning game drive, visiting the flamingo-filled shorelines and rhino sanctuaries
1300 Hours – 1430 Hours: Check-in and lunch at a lodge (e.g., Sarova Lion Hill Lodge or Lake Nakuru Lodge)
1530 Hours – 1830 Hours: Afternoon game drive, visiting Baboon Cliff and Makalia Waterfalls
1900 Hours: Dinner and overnight stay in Nakuru

Day 2: Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha to Nairobi

Our 2-Day 1 Night Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha Safari is an incredible overnight safari that departs daily from Nairobi. Enjoy game drives in Lake Nakuru National Park and a boat ride on Lake Naivasha.

Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake with picturesque views of Mount Longonot, hippos, and over 400 bird species, including pelicans, African fish eagles, African darters, cormorants, and lesser flamingos.

You have a chance to see four (4) of Africa’s Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, and Rhino) among other big game. Lake Nakuru National Park is a world-class bird-watching safari destination and is fondly referred to as the bird watchers’ paradise.

The Park has more than 25 black rhinos, plus around 70 white rhinos. The park is located 156 km northwest of Nairobi and 4 km from Nakuru town. There are also a number of Rothschild’s giraffes, waterbucks, lions, cheetahs, and leopards. The park also has large pythons.

Day 1: Nairobi – Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park

0800 Hours: Enjoy breakfast at your Nairobi city hotel, and your 2-day/ 1 Night safari begins with a drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Upon arrival at the park, you will proceed with a game drive en route to your hotel for lunch.

1200 Hours: Check in to your hotel and lunch follows. You will have time to relax, swim, or enjoy the hotel’s grounds before the afternoon game drive.

1530 Hours: After a cup of coffee/ tea or hot chocolate, you will depart for the afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park is renowned as a bird sanctuary, home to over 400 bird species, including large flocks of flamingos and many other water birds.

It is an excellent park for wildlife spotting and is home to many water-loving animals such as hippos and waterbucks.

Bird watching: Enjoy the fabulous water birds and other bird species. The best place to view the birds is from Baboon Cliff, where you get an excellent view of the lake and the wonderful spectacle of pink flamingos along its edge.

Game viewing: See the endangered white rhinos and other animals, including waterbucks, warthogs, hippos, impalas, buffalo, Rothschild giraffes, and more. Drive through the unique vegetation and the biggest euphorbia forest in Africa.

Viewpoints include Lion Hill, Baboon Cliff, and Out of Africa.

Visit the beautiful waterfall at Makalia.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Proceed to Lake Naivasha – Drive to Nairobi

0600 Hours: Early morning safari game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park followed by breakfast. Thereafter, drive to Lake Naivasha to arrive in time for lunch.

1300 Hours: Enjoy lunch at one of the hotels or lodges along the shores of Lake Naivasha.

1430 Hours: In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naivasha – a freshwater lake with a picturesque view of Mount Longonot, hippos, and over 400 species of birds.

You will also enjoy a nature walk amongst wild animals on Crescent Island. On the way to the island, you will see pelicans, African fish eagles, African darters, cormorants, and the lesser flamingos, which are migratory.

1600 Hours: Later, drive back to Nairobi and arrive at your city hotel in the evening. End of our 2 Days 1 Night Lake Nakuru Lake Naivasha Safari.
