Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge is superbly situated in Tsavo West National Park in the lee of Mount Kilimanjaro and sheltered by the volcanic splendor of the Chyulu Hills. It is a short drive from the main Mtito Andei Gate which lies 280 kilometers from Nairobi.

Day 1: Nairobi – Fly to Tsavo West National Park

Day 1: Nairobi – Fly to Tsavo West National Park

Approximately the morning, you’ll be transferred to Wilson Airport to catch your flight to Tsavo West National Park. On arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to the lodge with an en-route game drive.

The Park is a vast expansion of the African savanna with a more diverse array of habitats which include open plains, semi-desert scrub, woodland, Chyulu Hills, and rock outcrops.

After lunch proceeds for an afternoon game drive in search of the game. Alternatively, you may opt to stay and enjoy other activities offered in the lodge.

Day 2: Explore Tsavo West National Park

Spend the day exploring the vast Tsavo West. The park is famous for the Red Elephants, Oryx, and Gerenuk among other mammal species and over 500 bird species.

Visit the Lava Flows and Caves for geological interest; explore the caves or hike along the lava flow. The cliff faces in Tsavo West offer some of the best rock climbing in Kenya.

The views over the savanna plains are spectacular, and Mt Kilimanjaro can also be seen on occasion. Visit the 300 meters high, east side of Kichwa Tembo, the Great Tsavo Chimney and the Ivory Tower on Elephant Rock. Climbing can be arranged through the Mountain Club of Kenya.

Other thrilling activities at the park include guided bush walks, bird watching, cultural visits, and hikes.

Day 3: Tsavo East National Park – Fly to Nairobi

Wake up for an early game drive in search of predators and grazers. Return to the lodge for breakfast and later check out.

You’ll have your last glimpse of Tsavo West as you are transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi. On arrival at Wilson Airport, you’ll be met and taken back to the hotel/ residence.
