Kipalo Hills Lodge is located in Mbulia Conservancy, surrounded by Tsavo West National Park.  A waterhole right next to the camp attracts elephants, buffalo, and occasionally even leopards and the scarce wild dogs. The swimming pool provides refreshment between activities, and the surrounding rocks form an atmospheric backdrop for your sundowner.

Our 3-Day Fly-In Safari Package at Kipalo Hills Lodge begins with an hour’s flight from Wilson Airport, Nairobi, to Tsavo West National Park. Nairobi – Tsavo flights depart at 7:30 AM and at 3:00 PM.

Depending on the airstrip you land in, Tsavo West (Kilaguni or Finch Hutton), you are met and transferred with a game drive to Kipalo Hills Lodge. Kipalo Hills Lodge is perched on the side of the Mbulia Hills, bordering and overlooking Tsavo West National Park.

The lodge enjoys fantastic views looking out across the conservancy towards Ngulia and Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. This ideally located safari lodge offers guests understated luxury in a peaceful, wild setting.  The name ‘Kipalo’ means ‘the place to return to again and again in the local Taita language. The word is taken from the ancient elephant rubbings on the rock and baobab trees surrounding the Lodge.

Mbulia Conservancy was initiated in conjunction with the local community, with the lodge being built to benefit the local community by protecting the resident wildlife, especially elephants. Kipalo Hills offers just eight tented suites, including one luxury suite with a private plunge pool, designed to deliver privacy, exclusivity, and panoramic views.
