The 3-Day Samburu Safari explores one of Kenya’s three northern parks (including Shaba and Buffalo Springs). Samburu is part of the spectacular Great Rift Valley and reaches altitudes of 800-1230 metres above sea level in some areas.

Embark on thrilling 4×4 game drives in Samburu with expert guides, enjoying an exclusive safari experience away from the crowds. We may see large predators and rare big mammals on our game drive, as well as over 350 bird species found here.

Some of the most remarkable species of the park are the Somali ostriches, long-necked gerenuk antelopes, Grevy’s zebras, and Somali giraffes. Cheetahs, elephants, lions, and buffalo are frequently seen, along with various antelopes, including the striking gemsbok, waterbuck, and tiny dik-diks.

Your accommodations at Samburu Intrepids Camp offer unique game viewing in its immediate surroundings. The journey to the camp involves a 50-minute flight to the Samburu airstrip followed by a 20-minute drive through the reserve.

The reserve consists of hot, dry plains and scrublands fringed by mountains, including the tall Ol Olokwe Mountain. In Samburu, you get the chance to encounter the traditional Samburu tribe and gain insight into their customs and culture.

Day 1: Nairobi – Fly to Samburu Game Reserve

Depart Wilson Airport on board an Air Kenya flight departing at 0915 Hours to arrive in Samburu at 1030 Hours. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to Samburu Intrepids Tented Camp with a game drive en route. Lunch and afternoon game drive.

Day 3: Samburu – Fly to Nairobi

Enjoy another morning game drive; breakfast follows, then transfer to the airstrip to catch your flight back to Nairobi, departing at 1050 Hours and arriving approximately 1215 Hours. Drop off at your hotel or transfer to the international airport for onward flight home.
