Ruaha National Park is the largest national park in Tanzania. It covers an area of about 13,000 square kilometres and is located in the middle of Tanzania about 130 kilometres from Iringa.

The park’s location, in central-western Tanzania, means it is far from civilization and, apart from a few very keen overland trippers, is accessed only by light aircraft.  

The relatively few camps mean that you have swathes of untouched African bush to explore.  And with its amazing birdlife (547 different species!) as well as copious big game; Ruaha is one of the most interesting and diverse parks you can visit.

The park is rich in plants and animals such as Kudu (both Greater and Lesser), elephants, hippopotamus, fish and crocodiles,

Ruaha is believed to have a high concentration of elephants than any national park in East Africa. It is also a place where magnificent mammals like Sable and Roan antelopes can easily be spotted in Miombo woodland.

The park is also a habitat for endangered wild dogs. Other animals in the park include lions, leopards, cheetah, giraffes, zebras, elands, impala, bat-eared foxes and Jackals.

1020 Hours: Arrival at the Ruaha – Msembe Airstrip and meet and greet with your personal guide.

1845 Hours: Return to the Camp/ Lodge
