Day 1: Nairobi – Drive to Amboseli National Park

Your safari begins in Nairobi, where you depart by road for Amboseli National Park (approximately 4–5 hours). Along the way, enjoy views of rural Kenya and local homesteads before arriving at Ol Tukai Lodge in time for lunch.

In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive in Amboseli, exploring the park’s swamps, grasslands, and open plains. Amboseli is world-famous for its elephants, often seen in large herds against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Other possible sightings include zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and lions.

Your road safari is conducted in custom-built 4×4 safari vehicles with pop-up roofs, ideal for photography and wildlife viewing. Each car is equipped with a cooler box to keep drinks chilled while in the bush. To ensure comfort and excellent visibility, safaris operate with a maximum of six guests per vehicle, guaranteeing every traveler a window seat.

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Depart Nairobi and drive south to Amboseli National Park (a 4-hour journey of 102 miles), arriving at Amboseli Ol Tukai Lodge before lunch. Following afternoon tea, you will enjoy an evening game drive for a first view of the wildlife species for which the Amboseli is famous.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park

Awake to the noisy calls of the birds. After an early breakfast, we drive through the bush on our private track into Amboseli National Park for a full morning of game viewing. The Game Park also contains large populations of buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, and various antelope species, such as impalas.

Amboseli National Park is also home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, and many other species of plains game. The park also boasts an abundance of birds, including bee-eaters, kingfishers, pelicans, African fish eagles, and falcons.

Breakfast at Oltukai Lodge, then visit a Masai Village (at an Extra Cost) or relax at the Lodge. After lunch, enjoy some more leisure time before the evening game drive. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
