3 Days 2 Nights Amboseli Fly-in Safari Elerai Camp
Departs from Nairobi, ends in Nairobi. Experience an authentic 3-day fly-in Amboseli Safari in Kenya with expert guides and a stay at the luxury Elerai Tented Camp. Enjoy sweeping views of the plains of Africa flanked by Mount Kilimanjaro and exceptional game drives while you savor gourmet dining on this value-packed fly-in adventure.
This 3-Day Fly-in Safari to Amboseli offers an authentic bush experience as you embark on 4×4 game drives in open safari vehicles and a thrilling guided bush walk in the private Elerai conservation area.
The Elerai conservation area sits on a wildlife corridor named the Kitenden Corridor, where wild animals roam freely, moving between the Kilimanjaro Forest Reserve in Tanzania and Amboseli National Park and beyond. These areas include a rich variety of ecosystems from the semi-arid savanna to wetlands and are home to a diverse collection of flora and fauna.
This iconic location allows for peace and tranquility away from the crowds, and within a relatively short game drive, one can access Amboseli National Park and the Elerai community area. Between safari activities, relax in the comfort of your tented accommodation at the unfenced safari camp with a splash pool and spotlit waterhole.
Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park – Kenya
Your Amboseli fly-in safari begins with a morning flight from Wilson Airport to the Amboseli airstrip. Your guide will meet you and transfer you by vehicle to the Elerai Camp. Settle into your luxurious canvas tent where your comfort is assured.
After lunch, we relax at the camp and later get dressed up and head out for a game drive. Our afternoon game drive provides the ideal introduction to the African bush with our first sightings of incredible wildlife and birds.
We take a break on our game drive to watch the sunset and savor some snacks with sundowners. Darkness quickly follows sunset, and as we make our way back to our safari camp, we look out for the nocturnal creatures as they emerge for their nightly hunt.
Dinner awaits back at the safari camp. Relax around the campfire and listen to the sounds of the night, before retiring after an eventful day.
• Included Activity: Flight from Nairobi to Amboseli
• Meals included: Lunch & Dinner
Day 2 Amboseli National Park – Kenya
Our day begins at sunrise. After pre-dawn coffee and rusks, we set off on our wildlife drive into the bush to watch Africa wake. There are many benefits of staying in a private game reserve, such as Elerai conservation area.
The private game reserves have a limited number of safari lodges with a limited number of guests, so it’s quite possible that you won’t see another vehicle on your safari in the African bush. However, our professional driver guides keep in contact with each other, so all driver guides are made aware of any exciting sightings, such as a lion kill, so it’s unlikely that guests miss an enjoyable event.
Our driver guide is permitted to take our 4×4 safari vehicles off-road to get as close as possible to the action. This privilege is not allowed in Amboseli National Park itself. As well as Africa’s Big 4 (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo), you are sure to see varied antelope, zebra, giraffe, fantastic birdlife, and much, much more.
The open safari vehicle heightens the anticipation of meeting a beautiful, wild creature up close and gets the adrenaline flowing. But our driver’s excellent learning experiences explain the mysteries of the bush, and we have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the smaller creatures in this environment, as well as do some bird watching and take stunning photos.
After an exciting couple of hours, we head back to our camp for a very welcome breakfast. Now is the time to relax, as the sun reaches its zenith. Catch some rays, taking care to protect your skin from the relentless afternoon, summer sun, then cool off in the swimming pool and take a siesta, or lie on your bed and watch the wildlife pass by the waterhole.
Afternoon tea is followed by a wildlife viewing drive into the bush again. Our driver guide will use their superb skills to ensure the best game-watching experience possible. Once again, as the sun sets on Africa, we will enjoy a sundowner out in the bush before getting onto the safari vehicles to enjoy a night drive.
Back at the camp, we enjoy dinner and the age-old tradition of sitting around the campfire discussing the day’s sightings with our fellow travellers, before drifting to sleep to the night sounds.
DAY 3: Amboseli National Park, Fly to Nairobi, Kenya
Breakfast at camp this morning, then we pack up and say goodbye to the wild Amboseli ecosystem, retracing our steps to the Amboseli Airstrip. The scheduled flight to Nairobi departs at about 0815 hours and arrives at Wilson Airport in Nairobi at about 0915 hours, bringing this Amboseli Safari to a close.
