Our 3-Day Fly-in Masai Mara Safari is a holiday to the Masai Mara Game Reserve and with a stay at the Mara Intrepids Tented Camp. This Masai Mara Safari in Kenya begins with a transfer to the Wilson Airport in Nairobi. Boarding a scheduled flight at 10h00 you fly to the Masai Mara Olkiombo Airstrip in Masai Mara National Reserve in southwest Kenya.

Touching down at the airstrip, at about 11h00, you are collected by a driver from the safari camp. We head for a game viewing en route to the private camp. Mara Intrepids Camp is situated on a wide bend of the Talek river, under the shades of native trees in the center of the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

The camp luxurious 30 tents spread over a large campsite, and are arranged in groups of twos, threes, and fours for better serving small, medium, and large-sized groups. The tents are spacious, furnished with reproduction furniture and big beds, and complete with cozy en suite bathrooms with hot showers.

Mara Intrepids Camp Services include: raised platforms with views over the river, small riverfront dining areas, a conference room with business and video facilities, a boutique with gifts and safari essentials, telephone, e-mail, fax, and postal services.

The Masai Mara Reserve is best known for the Annual Wildebeest Migration, also called the Great Migration. This wildlife spectacle sees massive herds of over a million wildebeest, zebra, and Thomson’s gazelle stampede across the open plains between the Serengeti National Park in northern Tanzania and Masai Mara in southwestern Kenya.

These huge herds of herbivores are usually seen on the move between July and October when they search for fresh grazing. The masses of grazers attract an abundance of Africa’s predators that are frequently spotted making dramatic kills during the Great Migration. On our game drives through Masai Mara National Reserve we may see all of Africa’s Big Five, along with many other species of animals and birds.

After game viewing in the classical African safari setting of Masai Mara, we have the chance to stop in at one of the nearby Maasai Manyattas – traditional settlements where the Masai Tribes still live in their customary way. In the evening we relax around the campfire, watching the sunset over this iconic African landscape.

Our flying-in Masai Mara package safari offers two daily safari drives under the guidance of expert naturalists, as well as short visits to Manyatta’s, and Masai villages. Other activities include bush breakfasts, sundowners and bush dinners, arrangements for hot air balloon safaris, and transfers for fishing trips to Lake Victoria.
