3 Days Meru National Park Luxury Flying Safari from Nairobi is a short flying-in wildlife safari holiday to  Meru National Park wilderness area in Kenya.

The flight from Wilson airport in Nairobi to Kinna airstrip in Meru National Park is 55 Minutes. Meru National Park has located 348 km from Nairobi and incorporates Bisanadi, Kora, Rahole, and Mwingi National Reserves.

The highlights of our Meru flying-in safari include a visit to the former home of Joy and George Adamson, the grave of Elsa the lioness, Adamson’s Falls, Game viewing, stunning views of Mt Kenya, bird watching, and fishing among other activities.

Game viewing includes elephants, hippos, lions, leopards, and cheetahs. There are also some rare antelope, including the Lesser Kudu, duiker, and dik-dik, a tiny African antelope that stands just twelve inches high and is notoriously shy.

Meru National Park also has some of Kenya’s largest herds of buffalo, along with hartebeests, giraffes, and gazelles. Over 300 species of birds have been recorded in Meru National Park, including owls, kingfishers, rollers, bee-eaters, starlings, and numerous weavers.

Enjoy the beautiful scenery and landscape – stroll through or view the dense vegetation, forests, and savannahs with long grass, rivers, and swamps. Mount Kenya crowns the beautiful scenery of Meru National Park.

Safari Itinerary in Detail

Day 1: Nairobi – Fly to Meru National Park

0730 Hours: After an early breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi, we transfer you to Wilson airport for your scheduled flight to Meru National Park.

0915 Hours: Flight to Meru National Park departs from Wilson Airport. You will enjoy the beautiful countryside scenery and excellent views of snow-capped Mount Kenya in a distance.

1140 Hours: Arrive in Meru National Park and proceed for a game drive en route to the lodge/ camp.

1230 Hours: Arrive at the lodge/ camp and check-in follows. Lunch is served in the dining room.

1530 Hours: Coffee/ tea and hot chocolate is served in the lounge before the afternoon game drive.

1600 Hours: Depart for the afternoon game drive. Meru National Park is home to a large pride of lions, herds of buffalo, and hippos and crocodiles that live in the rivers. The park is noted for its fauna and natural beauty.

Meru has many swamps and rivers lined with palms, as well as mountains and woodlands, and it is the setting for Joy Adamson’s book “Born Free”, which was later made into a successful film.

1830 Hours: Return to the camp/ lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full Day in Meru National Park

0800 Hours: After a hearty breakfast we explore Meru National Park which is host to an extraordinary array of wildlife.

We take you out in four-wheel-drive vehicles together with professional guides to explore the bush at your pace, and to enjoy a vivid, personal connection with some of the magnificent creatures that call this area home.

Meru National Park is also home to species such as reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk, and Oryx which are not to be found in many other National Parks or areas in Kenya.

Aside from the regular morning and afternoon game drives, we have a range of other activities available on and off camp, including bird watching, bush walks, mountain biking, and visiting the villages of the peaceful and friendly Meru people.

Every activity is an opportunity to enjoy the stunning scenery and rhythms of life that are classically African.

Day 3: Meru National Park – Fly to Nairobi

0630 Hours: Depart for an early morning game drive. Game viewing includes elephants, hippos, lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

0900 Hours: Return to the lodge/ Camp for breakfast.

1100 Hours: Check-out and transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Nairobi.

1150 Hours: Your flight from Meru National Park to Nairobi departs.

You will see large Wheat and French bean plantations in the Timau area and excellent views of snow-capped Mount Kenya as you fly to Nairobi.

1305 Hours: Arrive in Nairobi and transfer to your residence/ Hotel
