This is a short 4-day wildlife-packed fly-in safari to the Selous Game Reserve in southern Tanzania from either Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar. Selous is home to Africa’s Big 5 and all the top predators - lion, wild dog, cheetah, leopard and spotted hyena. And the animals are present in large numbers too: a Selous safari is fantastic for sightings of large elephant and buffalo herds as well as healthy populations of hippo, giraffe and sable antelope. Activities here include boat trips on the rivers and lakes, approaching birds and animals closely (including crocodile and hippo); stretch your legs with a walking safari, inviting a real likelihood of encountering big 5; or opt for a game drive in an open 4×4 vehicle and experience first-hand the remoteness of this park. During your Selous adventure, you will be staying at the Lake Manze - a genuinely fantastic yet simple safari camp with 12 small comfortable tents with lovely views over Lake Manze. The camps activities include game drives in 4x4 safari vehicle, boat trips, fishing, walking safaris, bird watching, fly-camping and swimming pool.
