Safari Game drives are the ultimate highlight of this 5-Day Uganda Wildlife Safari to Kidepo Valley National Park. The tour departs from Kampala where we travel through the papyrus swamps and dense jungles of the Nile Delta area, making our way to Kidepo valley National Park.

The next couple of days are spent exploring Kidepo valley national Park. on various safari activities. These include;  Game viewing: Among the various species to see within this park are: the Hunting dog, Bat-eared Fox, Cheetah, Striped Hyena, Caracal, the aardwolf, elephants, oribi, Burchell’s zebras, Jackson’s hartebeests, bush pigs, and Bohor reedbuck.

Other animals include warthogs, Rothschild giraffes, Defassa Waterbucks, cape buffaloes, elands, bush duskier, bushbucks, lions, side-striped jackals, leopards, black-backed jackals, various small cats as well as spotted hyenas.

Bird Watching: The park is renowned for its exceptional variety of birds. Out of the 58 recorded birds of prey, fourteen are thought to be specifically endemic to the Kidepo as well as the Karamoja region. Included in these are the pygmy Falcon, Verreaux’s Eagle plus the Egyptian Vulture, in addition to many other species.

Day 1: Kampala – Drive to Kitgum Town

0700 Hours: Our 5-day Kidepo Murchison Falls National Park wildlife Uganda safari begins after an early breakfast followed by a pickup from your hotel/ residence in Kampala.

The journey takes us through the busy traffic-jammed streets of Kampala City through Luwero Triangle which was badly affected during the 1980’s Ugandan Civil War. At Luwero town for a couple of fruits and continue through Nakasongola District a large densely populated area with open savannah grasslands.

Lunch in Gulu and we continue to Kitgum which is about 452 km from Kampala.

Day 2: Kitgum Town – Kidepo Valley National Park

After the early morning breakfast, we set off for a 2 – 3 hours drive to Kidepo Valley National Park through Kakwanga, Loitanit villages, and finally enter the park.

We relax by our lodge/ camp and have lunch. In the afternoon we embark on a safari game drive that will take you through the Narus Valley to see herds of buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and hopefully some lions, leopards, and the elusive cheetah.

This will also enable you to be in full sight of varieties of birds as well. Stops will be made at any time in order for you to be able to take pictures of fabulous wildlife and birds along the way.

Day 3: Nature Walk, Game Drive, Cultural Visits

Have an early breakfast and go for a nature walk to view a variety of fauna and flora species in the park.  Return to your camp for lunch and a brief rest in the mid-afternoon.

Take another exciting game drive across the savannah, hills, small forests, dry river beds, and rings of mountains around you.

In the evening where you will go for a cultural tour in the Karimajong community. Here you will spend a wonderful evening with Karamojong people and have an insight of their way of life and beliefs.

At the end of the tour, you will be able to understand why their pride makes them slow to adapt to globalization.

Return in the evening for an overnight at your accommodation.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive – Lunch – Drive to Kitgum Town
