6 Days Budget Camping Safari Nakuru Mt Elgon Lake Victoria begins from Nairobi and takes you to explore the following places – Lake Nakuru National Park, Mount Elgon, and Lake Victoria.
Lake Nakuru National Park – renowned as a bird sanctuary with over 400 bird species, including huge flocks of flamingoes and many other water birds. It is an excellent park for wildlife spotting and is home to many water-loving animals such as hippos and waterbucks.
Other animals present in the park include waterbucks, warthogs, impalas, buffalo, Rothschild giraffes, elands, endangered black rhinos, white rhinos, and, occasionally leopards.
Mount Elgon is an extinct shield volcano on the border of Uganda and Kenya, north of Kisumu and west of Kitale. The mountain’s highest point, named “Wagagai”, is located entirely within Uganda.

Day 1: Nairobi – Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park
Depart Nairobi with picnic lunch boxes for Lake Nakuru National Park with a brief stopover at the Rift Valley view-point for a morning view of the Majestic Mt. Longonot and the breath-taking view of the Rift Valley.
Arrive in Lake Nakuru National Park and proceed directly on a game-drive. Enjoy your picnic lunch at the Baboon cliff View-point. After lunch proceeds on another game drive. Lake Nakuru birdlife is world-renowned and offers over 400 species of both aquatic and terrestrial birds.
Lake Nakuru animals include Black and White Rhino, buffalo, leopard, lion, Rothschild’s giraffe, White and Black Colobus monkey, eland, steenbok, impala, Chandlers Reedbuck, dik-dik, rock hyrax, klipspringer, hippo, and clawless otter.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Drive to Mount Elgon
After breakfast proceeds Mount Elgon. Arrival into Kitale Town in time for lunch. After lunch proceeds Mount Elgon National Park for a game drive.
On the game drive, you have an opportunity to see over 400 elephants plus buffalo, leopards, the colobus and blue monkeys (a protected species), hogs, waterbucks, and various species of antelope.
The park is also home to at least 240 different species of birds, including the cinnamon-chested bee-eater, Hartlaub’s turaco, and redheaded parrot.

Day 3: Explore Mount Elgon

TheThree nature trails lead both the caves and Elephant Bluff. You will also find breathtaking views of the park from Endebass Bluff.
Mountain climbing or trekking is very popular in Mount Elgon National Park. For those who want to visit the peak of Mount Elgon, which sits at 4,155 meters above sea level, climbing can be accomplished in 2 to 3 hours depending on one’s pace.

Day 4: Mount Elgon – Drive to Kakamega Forest
After breakfast, depart for Lake Victoria. On your way yo,u will visit Kakamega Rain Forest. This is the only remaining rainforest after the Congo Forest.
Over 30 varieties of snakes including the deadly gaboon viper, Jameson’s mamba, and black mamba are found here among other animals. Monkeys and some rare birds are found here. Great and very old indigenous trees, some are hundreds of years old.
