7 Days 6 Nights Kenya Fly-in Safari Laikipia Masai Mara

7 Days 6 Nights Kenya Fly-in Safari Laikipia Masai Mara is a classic fly-in safari that combines the superb Segera Conservancy in central Laikipia Plateau in Kenya, with the outstanding Olderkesi Conservancy neighbouring the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve in the south-west.

In the company of expert guides, you will enjoy game drives, walks and horseback safaris as you search for the Big 5 and massed herds of migrating wildebeest plus their ever-present predators. Even if you visit out of Migration season, such is the wealth of wildlife on this tour that you are still assured of great game viewing at all the destinations.

Both camps Segera Retreat in Laikipia and Cottar’s1920s Camp in Masai Mara are really fantastic properties located in prime wildlife viewing areas. Beginning in central Laikipia Plateau, Kenya, just north of the Equator, Segera Retreat is set in a lush botanical garden surrounded by an unspoiled African landscape and offers exceptional luxury, service and cuisine.

In Segera Conservancy you stand a very good chance of sighting plains game such as gazelle, impala, defassa waterbuck, buffalo, eland, elephant and the elegant gerenuk. Predators include lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, black-backed jackals, servals and striped hyenas.

Segera Retreat can accommodate up to 20 guests and has a shop, art gallery, gym, salt-water swimming pool and wellness Centre. Activities offered here include day and night game drives, picnics and sundowners, guided walks, camel walks and cultural visits with local communities amongst others.

The Mara holds the greatest and most diverse concentration of wildlife remaining in Africa today. The Mara has a richly varied resident population of wildlife, including all the Big 5 along with rarer species like cheetahs, bat-eared foxes and Roan antelope.

The Great Migration occurs when the vast herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle move through the ecosystem following the rains and fresh grazing. Cottar’s 1920s Camp is the ultimate ”Out of Africa” experience and is located on its own private conservancy (Olderkesi Private Reserve) in the Mara.

The camp accommodates up to twelve clients in authentic white canvas tents, which are spacious and luxuriously furnished and incorporate original safari antiques from the ’20s.

Activities at Cottar’s 1920s Camp include day and night game drives, safari walks, bush baths and bush meals. A visit to a Maasai village can also be arranged and there’s a spa offering various treatments at additional cost.
