Day 1,2 & 3: Arrive Nairobi – Transfer to Wilson – fly to Shaba Game Reserve

On arrival into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by an African Spice Safaris representative who will transfer you to Wilson Airport for the Safarilink scheduled flight to Shaba departing at 1020 Hours. On arrival at the Chaffa airstrip, your driver/ guide will meet you and transfer you to camp. Accommodation is booked for 3 nights on a full board basis.

Joy’s Camp is situated in Shaba National Reserve, on the site of Joy Adamson’s original campsite. Its ten spacious luxury tents are set overlooking a large, natural spring that attracts endless game to the area around camp.

Each tent is decorated with sumptuous details and vibrant tribal cloths, creating a unique and attractively chic style, as well as private verandas – ideal for game viewing, relaxing, reading and soaking up the wilderness that is Shaba.

Joy’s Camp is the perfect choice for discerning guests interested in a glimpse of Kenyan history, as well as an authentic wildlife experience combined with the comfort of a luxury tented camp.

Day 4: Shaba – Fly to Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for the Safarilink scheduled flight to the Masai Mara departing at 0910 Hours. You will be met at Mara North Airstrip and transferred to Elephant Pepper Camp. Accommodation is booked for 3 nights on a full board basis.

Elephant Pepper Camp is a small and exclusive safari camp, situated in the heart of the Masai Mara’s protected Mara North Conservancy. The camp looks out across the Mara’s vast open savannah plains.

Our spacious canvas tents are comfortably furnished, featuring solar lighting, and en suite bathrooms with eco-friendly flush toilets and traditional safari showers. Elephant Pepper Camp brings people back to nature – no traffic, no permanent structures, just the sights and sounds of the African bush.

Day 7: Masai Mara – Fly to Nairobi, transfer to JKIA – Depart

After a last game drive in the Masai Mara, at 1000 Hours you will transferred to the airstrip to catch the 1100 Hours Safarilink flight back to Nairobi. Arriving at 1215 Hours, a Cheli & Peacock representative will meet and transfer you to your Nairobi hotel or to the international airport for your journey home.

* From 01st April – 30th June and 01st November – 15th Dec, the Safari Link scheduled Service – Nairobi – Chaffa – Masai Mara will only operate with a minimum of 4 Guests. Therefore if there are less than 4 guests traveling, a supplement will apply for a private Charter

The site was also home to Penny the leopard, the heroine of her last book. The camp overlooks a large natural spring where elephant and lion jostle for watering rights with herds of buffalo and lots of rare animals. After 3 nights at Joy’s Camp, we fly next to Elephant Pepper Camp located in the middle of the Masai Mara North Conservancy.

Small and exclusive, the camp is located away from any other lodges, in the heart of the African bush. Activities include day and night game drives, bush walks, bush meals, cultural visits and sundowners.
