9 Days 8 Nights Kenya Fly-in Safari Laikipia Masai Mara

9 Days 8 Nights Kenya Fly-in Safari Laikipia Masai Mara itinerary offers a fabulous 9-day safari holiday in Kenya, flying between two incredibly diverse and unique parks in Kenya. Your safari combines the superb Lewa Conservancy in Laikipia in northern Kenya with the outstanding Maasai Mara National Reserve in the southwest.

This trip begins with a 4 Night stay at Sirkoi Camp in Lewa Downs Conservancy followed by 4 Nights at andBeyond Bateleur Camp in the Maasai Mara. Both camps are located in prime wildlife viewing areas. As soon as you arrive at either camp’s airstrip you are immediately set out on game drives in open vehicles with expert and knowledgeable guides.

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is home to all of the Big Five. It has good populations of black rhinos and white rhinos and sightings are very common. Elephants and buffalo are plentiful and there is a good variety of predators including cheetahs, lions, leopards, and wild dogs. Lewa is also home to the northern specials, Grevy’s zebra, Reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Gerenuk, and the Somali ostrich.

You stay at Sirikoi Lodge (Willie’s Camp) a small and intimate family-owned safari lodge that prides itself on attention to detail, superlative service, and an astonishing array of activities, day and night game drives, horse riding, bush walks, sundowners, bush meals, massages, and helicopter excursions, etc.

Our next 4 nights are spent at andBeyond Bateleur Camp in the game-rich Masai Mara within a forest featuring tented safari accommodation. Bateleur Camp’s location is so superb that it was used for the iconic closing scenes of the film Out of Africa.

Exploring the Masai Mara in an adapted, open 4×4 safari vehicle with your professional safari guide getting up close to the huge volume and wide diversity of wildlife in the Mara. Other activities at Bateleur Camp include game drives, night drives, bush walks, hot air balloon safaris, community excursions, a well-equipped gym, and wellness treatments.

After breakfast at Lewa Sirikoi Lodge, we transfer to Lewa Airstrip and fly to Kichwa Airstrip in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. On arrival at the airstrip, you will be met by a representative from &Beyond Bateleur Camp and transferred to the lodge.

Blessed with an astounding year-round concentration of animals and the climax of the Great Migration, Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve provides an unsurpassed wildlife experience. Covering an area of 1 510 km2, the Masai Mara is a land of breathtaking vistas, abundant wildlife, and endless plains.

The Reserve is a photographer’s and naturalist’s paradise with abundant elephants, buffalo, giraffes, lions, and cheetahs alongside the migratory wildebeest and zebra. Leopards are frequently encountered, endangered black rhino find retreat in dense thickets, and large rafts of hippos and enormous crocodiles are found in the Mara River.

The Mara is also home to over 450 bird species. Situated in the &Beyond Kichwa Tembo Private Concession, which neighbour’s the Masai Mara, &Beyond Bateleur Camp offers world-class accommodation in the African bush.

Meaning “head of the elephant” in Kiswahili, Kichwa Tembo is located on private land leased from Maasai landlords in the remote western Mara – almost exclusively explored by fly-in guests. In addition to the excellent concentration of animals, Kichwa Tembo lies directly in the path of Africa’s spectacular Great Migration.
