Abora Cottage Watamu

Abora Cottage Watamu is a self-catering holiday home located 2nd row from the beach – 10 minutes walk on 2nd row from the nearest beach access leading to Watamu Marine Park. Abora is an absolute hidden gem, about half way down the Watamu central strip. Abora is the perfect spot for a family looking to experience all there is to experience in Watamu.

Watamu is a small coastal town in Kenya, north of Mombasa known for Watamu Marine National Park and Reserve, which has 3 bays: Watamu, Blue Lagoon and Turtle. Sandy beaches and coral gardens are the defining features. Seabirds, as well as green and hawksbill turtles, inhabit Mida Creek with its sand flats and mangrove forest.

Abora Cottage Watamu

Abora Cottage is a 3 bedroom bungalow set in one acre of lush tropical gardens, including three ponds, complete with the flora and fauna that live in them. This gives one that relaxing mood from the hustle and bustle of city life. 

The property has a 1-double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a 1-twin room with an en-suite shower room and a second twin room that has a bathroom shared with the main living area. This house sleeps 7 guests including children. Each of the bedrooms has fitted mosquito nets and overhead fans.

A small kitchen leads into the central living area and out onto the terrace which stretches the length of the house and overlooks the large swimming pool. The property is gated and includes a cook/housekeeper and a night watchman. There is also a kitchen, living room, verandah swimming pool and 3 ponds.

Watamu offers a wide range of Water-related activities. From wakeboarding and Water-skiing in Mida Creek, Kayaking and fun-boats to scuba diving and snorkelling. Kite-surfing too has taken off in a big way in Watamu.

There are plenty of places to go and things to see in Watamu and beyond. From the fascinating Bio-ken Snake Farm and Watamu Turtle Watch’s rehabilitation centre to the Butterfly Farm and the historic Gede ruins only a short taxi or tuk-tuk ride away.

If you have had too much water, there are lots of other sports to take part in. Cycling, Golf, Tennis are only a few of them. Watamu also has some wonderful gems in the shopping world. From curios and kikois through to some lovely interior shops, modern chemists.
