Anga Afrika Tented Camp is a family-owned luxury eco-camp located in Karen, a suburb of Nairobi, out towards the Ngong Hills, 6 km from Karen Blixen Museum in Nairobi. The camp itself is lovely, serene, and intimate, set within the grounds of a family home.

The camp is around 25 minutes from the main airport and 16 miles from the Central Business District. The nearest airport is Wilson, 16 km from the camp.

Anga Afrika camp offers 6 luxury tented suites named after animals; Simba, Punda Milia, Twiga, Ndovu, Chui and Cheetah. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom, a clothing rack, a safe, and an outdoor deck with chairs, a table, and sunbeds.

Rooms have options for King, Queen, or Twin beds with orthopedic spring mattresses and cotton bedding. All windows are equipped with mosquito-proof netting. We also include en-suite bathrooms, electronic safes, and desks.

The rooms are actually big safari-style tents. The tents sleep up to 3 adults or they can also add a cot for children to sleep 4 . The decor has a true ‘Out of Africa’ feel, with African print and an earthy palette. Each tent has its own front porch too, where it would be lovely to sit out with a nice big glass of wine and a book.

The camp offers a la carte menu that includes a range of Mediterranean, Oriental, and Kenyan cuisine. They also feature a cocktail bar and relaxing lounge which offers guests another avenue to unwind.

Anga Afrika has both a pool and an in-house bar to entertain our guests. We can organize a beauty therapist to come to the camp should you want a massage, manicure, or pedicure, as well as a babysitter to watch the little ones.

Most of the time we justify the camp by saying that the experience of living in a luxury tent compared to an ordinary hotel room is incomparable, that getting woken up in the morning by all sorts of exotic animal noises is something extraordinary and that the feeling of being connected to nature in such a luxury setting is indescribable.

Major attractions in and around the area include; the Karen Blixen Museum, the Oloolua Nature Trail, the Ngong Road Forest, the Nairobi Safari Walk, Kazuri Beads, Marula Studios, the Nairobi Giraffe Centre, and the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage.
