Asanja Nyasarori Camp Serengeti National Park Tanzania

Asanja Nyasarori Camp Serengeti National Park Tanzania is a new Luxury Tented Camp located in the Western Serengeti, 10 minutes drive from the Grumeti river inside the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. The camp is situated on a marsh that provides panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness and is near the wildebeest migration route during the months of June and July.

The Grumeti river is most known for The Great Migration wherein herds of wildebeest and zebras cross the river to reach and continue their journey towards their destination.  The Grumeti river has a large crocodile population who anxiously wait for migrating herd’s crossing that come with a guarantee of a great meaty feast. Yet there s nothing that can stop, the wildebeest and zebras to reach their final destination. You would also find hippos, monkeys and elephants happily swimming and drinking water.

The camp can be accessed by air or road. The closest airstrip to the camp is the Grumeti Airstrip, which is approximately a 30-minute drive from the camp. Guests can also access the camp by road from Arusha (7-9 hours) or Mwanza (3-4 hours). The closest airstrips is the Grumeti Airstrip – 20 Minutes drive.

The weather in the Serengeti varies throughout the year, with distinct dry and wet seasons. The dry season runs from June to October and is characterized by hot, sunny days with low humidity and almost no rainfall. During this time, temperatures can range from 25°C to 30°C (77°F to 86°F) during the day and can drop to 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 59°F) at night.

The wet season runs from November to May and is characterized by occasional heavy rainfalls, high humidity, and warm temperatures. During this time, temperatures can range from 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F) during the day and can drop to 15°C to 20°C (59°F to 68°F) at night.

Asanja Nyasarori has Seven ensuite Individual Luxury huts and One (two bedroom ensuite) Family hut. All huts are inspired by maasai huts, which are known as enkaji in maa language. The Asanja Nyasarori camp is open all year round as this area has spectacular wildlife all year with so many resident animals around.

Asanja has created an intriguing maasai boma for guests to experience living in a modern luxurious maasai boma, consisting of three huts as a single unit room, each hut with its own facility, which includes a sitting lounge area, sleeping area and a bathroom.

There are specially designed plunge pools in each of the rooms for you to soak up, unwind and relax in the bush. Additionally, each unit can have its own dining experience giving you complete privacy.  The cuisine at the camp is all fresh, scrumptious, and delicious as we take pride in sourcing all ingredients fresh and local.

Every Year, thousands of Wildebeest take a plunge to cross the glittering waters of the Grumeti River. The River is well known for its population of hippos and the Gigantic Nice Crocodiles. The Lush Riparian forest that shades the river is home to the Rare Colobus Monkeys. Asanja Grumeti is well hidden amongst the open woodlands of the Nyasarori Plains, famous for large herds of elephants and good concentration of wildlife.
