Bamboo Zanzibar Design Hotel is a high-end luxury beach resort on a quiet stretch of Jambiani Zanzibar’s South East Coast. The hotel is situated in Jambiani, 450 meters from Jambiani Beach, while Zanzibar City is 43 km from the hotel.
Bamboo lies on a cliff with vast views of the Indian Ocean. A staircase takes you down to the beach and at low tide, the area invites for you for a long beach walk. The ocean seems to flow through the uniquely designed rooms, the pool above melts with the Indian Ocean beyond.
Bamboo Zanzibar’s 10 Ocean View Suites interiors feature pure lines and form, with artisanal details inspired by the continent’s cultural heritage. All rooms open up completely towards the ocean, giving way to the private veranda with a plunge pool beyond it.
The Indian Ocean serves as a dramatic tropical backdrop while the infinity pool above provides entertainment as its waves refill the private pool below. The interior design is strict and African chic. Noticeable is that they pressed the bamboo into the concrete for making a special effect.
The hotel rooms are doubles only (no twin or triples) and room amenities include an air-conditioner, mini-fridge, coffee machine, blackout curtains, beach bag and towels, room safe, a coffee station, drinking water & high-speed Internet. The hotel only caters to guests above the age of 15.
Restaurant – The ever-changing daily menus are intriguing but sound better than it tastes. The half-board menu includes a 5 Course Degustation Menu based on the daily menu. The wine list is one of the better on the island.
