Cheetah Campsite LUMO Community Wildlife Sanctuary Tsavo West

Cheetah Campsite (at Lions Bluff) offers camping in the bush in the secluded 48,000-acre private conservancy, Lumo Community Wildlife Sanctuary with stunning views! The campsite welcomes you to make use of the activities which are on offer from Lions Bluff Lodge (5 km from the campsite).

The campsite provides water, a kitchen room, a shower, toilets, wood fuel, level areas for your tents, use of the sanctuary, and access to the other properties on-site. You are welcome to join us at the safari bar in the lodge for drinks any time of the day and evening, enjoy the view, and check out the informative array of books that we make available for your perusal.

We also welcome Campers are welcomed at the other nearby properties (Lions Bluff Lodge, Leopard Lair Cottages & Cheetah Tented Camp) for meals or drinks (payable direct).

Cheetah Campsite at Lumo Community Wildlife Sanctuary offers one of the most diverse selections of safari activities available in Africa. One of the most highly-rated bird areas in the world, it offers unrivaled ornithology. Adjacent to the cloud forests of the Taita Hills, the area offers superb walking and unique biological discovery of its many endemic treasures.

There are also ‘World War I Battlefield’ tours, visits to enigmatic lake Jipe and Lake Challa, the unique Grogans Castle, guided nature walks, and luxury breakfasts and sundowners in the bush. Immediately adjacent to Tsavo West, the campsite also serves as a gateway to the Shetani Lava Flows, Mzima Springs Hippo Pools, the Chyulu Hills, and the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary of one of the largest national parks in the world.

LUMO Community Wildlife Sanctuary – hosts cape Buffalos, Elephants, Leopards, Maasai Lions, Maasai Giraffes, Zebras, Hartebeests, Impalas, Waterbucks, Thomson’s Gazelles, Lesser kudu, Dik-dik, and other smaller animals, including a great diversity of birdlife.

The beautiful Taita Hills, known as Little Switzerland, offer skull caves, waterfalls, stunning scenery, and trekking through natural rainforests.
