Chobe Safari Lodge Murchison Falls Uganda

Chobe Safari Lodge is a Five Star safari lodge located in Uganda’s Murchison falls national park formerly known as Kabalega national park in the Northwest of Uganda. Chobe Safari Lodge is situated in Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River and shares a border with Chobe National Park. The park entrance gate is a short 10-minute drive from the lodge.

It is the oldest lodge in Chobe and was established in 1959. Right on our doorstep is the meeting of four African countries: Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. Chobe Safari Lodge, therefore, offers an excellent getaway location to Chobe, Victoria Falls, or Caprivi.

Chobe Safari Lodge offers panoramic views of the Nile River with 36 elegant guest rooms, 21 luxury tents, 4 suites, and a Presidential Cottage.  The River Nile is the main focus from an architect’s perspective, and so all the rooms and luxury tents have balconies and terraces facing the magnificent sweeping views.

The main lodge is a thatched, open-sided building containing a spacious dining area that spills out onto the outdoor patio area, a bar area, and a lounge area featuring seating with African-style cushions. The high ceilings and wooden décor create a rustic, laid-back ambiance.

On the lower level is a swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers where you can relax between activities, and a terrace leading down to the boating station, offering views across the river to Namibia.

The lodge serves full English or continental breakfast each morning, while light lunches are offered as a buffet or à la carte. Buffet dinners can include barbecues, stir-fries, Indian cuisine, and vegetarian dishes alongside African flavors.

There are two bars on site: Sedidu Bar, which offers wonderful sunset views, and Cocktail Bar, which overlooks Caprivi floodplains. For something special, you can enjoy a three-course buffet dinner aboard a boat along the Chobe River.

At the lodge, there’s a pool, a beauty salon, Wi-Fi access, Airport pickup service,  Business Service Centre, gift shop, Karuma Restaurant & Cuisine, Café, Bar, Currency exchange, Gym, and conference facilities.

Along with many species of big game, Chobe National Park boasts the largest concentration of elephants in Africa, and our game drives and boat cruises offer visitors the opportunity to witness this amazing spectacle. Other activities include;  sunset boat cruises, private boat hire, Victoria Falls day trips, fishing, scenic flights, and Namibian Village walks.
