Crater Safari Lodge Kibale National Park Uganda is located on the banks of the Nyinabulitwa Crater Lake, the second-largest crater lake in Uganda. The lodge is within 7 km of the tropical rainforest of Kibale Forest National Park. The national park protects the lush and dense evergreen rainforest, which is the natural habitat of chimpanzees.

The well-appointed Crater Safari Lodge is situated in a prime location on a hill overlooking the second-largest crater lake in Uganda. The views from the lodge are breathtaking, and rooms either have a full or partial view of the crater lake below.

Crater Safari Lodge is in a remote area and the journey to paradise is long but eye-opening and scenic. The quickest route is by air. Fly from Entebbe to Fort Portal Airstrip, followed by a 60 minutes road transfer to the lodge. Driving from Entebbe to Crater Safari Lodge, take approximately 5 – 7 hours.

Crater Safari Lodge Kibale National Park Uganda has a total of 23 rooms comprising 9 standard pool-facing cabanas (double level) and 14 deluxe thatched chalets.  All the rooms have, mosquito nets, wardrobes, clothes racks, shower, bathrobes, free toiletries, toilet, bathroom, bath or shower, outdoor furniture, outdoor dining area, towels, linen, and bedside tables with lamps

Thatched chalets with expansive wooden balconies provide the perfect luxurious jungle escape. Hammocks and garden swings on the grounds of the lodge add an extra element of tranquility to your remote safari experience.

The main lodge houses the restaurant, intimate bar area, and lounge. The boma area is the perfect place to relax around a roaring and crackling fire, and share stories about the day’s activities. The sparkling swimming pool adorning the manicured lawns is the perfect place to soak up the African sun and enjoy panoramic views of the sublime crater lake.

The surrounding area is home to 9 crater lakes and abundant tea and coffee plantations. The famous Kibale National Forest is home to gangs of chimpanzees, and the neighboring Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is home to abundant birdlife and primates. The “Top of the World” viewpoint is close-by.

Children Policy

* Children aged 4 and younger stay free of charge
* The minimum age for chimpanzee trekking is 12 years
* Children aged 5 – 12 pay 50% of the adult rate when sharing with adults
* Children aged 13 and over are considered adults and pay the adult rate
* Children aged 5 – 12 pay 70% of the adult rate when staying in their own room
* Children of all ages are welcome at Crater Safari Lodge, but only children aged 12 and above will be able to track the chimps
