Deloraine House Rongai Nakuru is a private holiday farmhouse located on the western edge of the Great Rift Valley on the lower slopes of Mount Londiani at Rongai Nakuru – Kenya
Deloraine House was built in the 1920s by Lord Francis Scott, a prominent early settler. Deloraine has to be one of the grandest examples of colonial architecture in the country and is a unique hosted property with half of Kenya’s history bottled up in it.
Deloraine is set on 3,500 acres of farm on the lower slopes of Londiani Mountain, which is a forest and bamboo-shrouded extinct volcano, on the western edge of the Great Rift Valley.
The house is just 45 minutes from Lake Nakuru National Park and about 191 km from Nairobi. Deloraine House is a three-hour drive from Nairobi or guests can take a Private Charter to Gogar Airstrip which is just a few minutes from the House)
There are 3 large double rooms with their own bathrooms and 2 extra rooms for families with shared bathrooms. There are also 3 double rooms with their own bathrooms in the cottage adjacent to the house.
The house features a large dining room, drawing room, and two spacious verandas which overlook Deloraine’s beautiful mature gardens. All meals are taken in the dining room, on the veranda, or by the swimming pool, and guests become part of the family atmosphere.
Deloraine House activities include; horse riding where guests can ride around the farm, the nearby mountain and also a cross country course and full-size polo ground, with over 60 horses based at Deloraine, mountain riding, cross country jumping, and a full-size polo pitch, this is an equestrian’s heaven!
Other activities include day trips to Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria, and/ or Lake Baringo for game drives and bird watching. The house features a croquet lawn, a tennis court, and an outdoor swimming pool.
Alternatively, the area can be explored on foot and Deloraine House staffs are happy to take guests on local walks.
