Elephant Plains Lodge Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda

Elephant Plains Lodge is a luxury lodge located on the most spectacular viewpoint in the whole of Queen Elizabeth National Park, only 2 minutes from the park gate. From Entebbe, the lodge is only a 1-hour flight plus a 2-hour drive from Kasese Airport. From Bwindi, Kihihi Airtrips, it is a 15-minute flight or a 5-hour drive through the park.

Perched 941 meters above sea level, high up on the western escarpment of the Albertine Rift in the northeast of the park, the lodge offers panoramic views stretching for miles over the huge open grasslands to Lake George.

The lodge is set in 80 acres of pristine wilderness,  no where else here can you sleep closer to the equator (N*S 0.0,25.172) with views of the equator monument visible from all around the Lodge. Nestled next to beautiful Lake Kikorongo this is where the open plains merge into the crystal waters and see large numbers of elephants coming to drink from the water, hence the lodge’s name.

Elephant Plains Lodge consists of 6 spacious double/twin en-suite cottages with large private verandas and huge glass windows to take advantage of the incredible views. All the cottages have large bathtub showers and are spaced out along the hilltop, offering privacy and tranquillity.

Other lodge amenities include; Laundry Services, En-suite bathrooms, a Bathtub in all rooms, Swimming Pool, Wi-Fi Available, Restaurant & Bar, Drinks at the Bar & a Mosquito net.

Activities available from Elephant Plains Lodge include; Game drives in the Kasenyi Plains, Wildlife viewing at Mweya Peninsula, a Boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, Exploration of the Crater Lakes, Chimp tracking in Kyambura Wildlife Reserve, Forest Walks in Maramagambo Forest, etc.

The area has fantastic game viewing, and a huge number of grassland birds, and is a major breeding ground for the Ugandan Kob which readily attracts lions and other big cats to the area.
