Kiambethu Tea Farm Limuru Cottages are a perfect escape just an hour’s drive from the hustle and bustle of Nairobi. Set at 7,200 feet, the cottages offer stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the Ngong Hills, surrounded by lush gardens and peaceful tea fields. This historic farmhouse has been home to four generations of the first family to grow and produce tea in Kenya, playing a key role in the birth of the country’s tea industry. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a warm cup of tea and homemade biscuits by the gracious host, Fiona. She shares fascinating stories about the farm’s history and the tea-making process. A guided tour follows, including a walk through a preserved indigenous forest where you can spot Colobus monkeys and learn about local plants. The visit includes a delicious three-course lunch made with locally sourced ingredients. Expect homemade soup, fresh vegetables, Swiss steak or vegetarian options, and homemade ice cream, along with wine, beer, tea, and coffee. The hotel is a 3 hours drive from Nairobi county. Kembu cottages are located on a large 900 acre/ 400 ha farm just 8 km beyond Njoro. The 9 beautiful cottages with rambling gardens are set in secure grounds on a working up-country farm – a magical climate and your home away from home. Kembu has a Campsite which has been well designed to suit both large and small groups of all ages. Kongoni Game Valley Lodge Naivasha is situated in the rift valley in the volcanic hills and open grasslands of the Western edge of Lake Naivasha in a private 2000-acre wildlife conservancy called Kongoni Valley Ranch. The lodge is two hours’ drive (120 km) from Nairobi and about 35 minutes’ drive down Moi South Lake Road. The century old farmhouse, now modernized and converted to a Lodge with 5 en-suite double guestrooms and 2 guest cottages. Owned by a Kenyan family, it offers a peaceful escape surrounded by wildlife and sweeping views. The front lawn features a swimming pool with breathtaking backdrops of Lukenya Hills, Mt.
