House In The Wild Masai Mara

House In The Wild is a family-owned and managed private luxury holiday house located beside the Mara River within the Enonkishu Conservancy, the most northern conservancy of the Maasai Mara with 4,224 acres of wildlife conservation land.

As well as Enonkishu, guests also have access to the extensive Ol Chorro and Lemek Conservancies – all of which provide excellent game viewing across a variety of landscapes and away from the busier tourist trails. The properties are hosted by the Wood family and their team of local staff.

The house is located a 4 to 5 hours drive from Nairobi by road and 45 minutes by air. Ngerende Airstrip is the closest airstrip to the house and it’s about 15 minutes drive away. However, there is a private airstrip on the property only for charter flights.

The House in the Wild is a private 12-14 bed lodge and consists of a main lounge and dining area and four cottages. The Original Cottage, the river cottage, the Warburgia cottage, the marula cottage, and the hippo cottage. 

The Original Cottage – This has a large verandah with two double rooms, both with en-suite bathrooms each with baths and an outside star shower.

The River Cottage – Consists of a double room with the option of adding 2 single beds for children at the rear of the room.

The Warburgia cottage – the cottage is under the shade of a huge Warborgia Tree, a double en suite with a massive bath overlooking the river. 

The Marula cottage – This cottage has two large double en-suite rooms with their own private lawn, verandah, and lounge areas. 

The Hippo cottage – This is the newest cottage set in a beautiful spot in the shade of huge leafy trees on the banks of the Mara River.  With its own huge verandah and bath overlooking the river, it is the perfect room for a private luxury safari.

House Wild Masai Mara prepares meals from fresh produce from the farm or the family. Dining is either under the stars on a table by the campfire or in the dining area with a cozy fireplace and a large lawn that stretches out to the banks of the Mara river, with a beautiful pool overlooking the river.

There is a tennis court and an outdoor pool where guests can have a swim or chill out on a swinging bed by the river. House in the Wild is all solar!  For hairdryers, we can put on a generator! Kerosene lamps throughout the night. There is Wi-Fi available at all properties.
