Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge Bwindi Uganda is a mid-range accommodation facility located 5 minutes away from Rushaga Gate of Bwindi National Park and 6 km from Lake Mutanda. The lodge is situated about a 10-minute’ Walk from Rushaga Gate, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, South Western Uganda.

Access from Kigali-Rwanda is about 4 to 5 hours by road depending on delays spent at the border crossing. Access from Entebbe/Kampala is 8 hours by road. You can also travel by air. via scheduled domestic flights to Kisoro Airstrip. Chartered flights can also be arranged.

The Lodge provides Luxury Cottages, with en-suite facilities and a private balcony to enjoy the spectacular view of Bwindi Forest and beautiful surrounding landscapes. Ichumbi derived from the local Rufumbira dialect means ‘ a cool, comfortable home.

It is designed to provide you with high-end comfort and relaxation to be able to enjoy your Gorilla tracking experience, go birding watching, and enjoy forest life surrounded by impressive landscapes.

Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge Bwindi Uganda consists of 9 Luxury Cottages. Each cottage has en-suite facilities with hot showers and a private balcony to enjoy the spectacular view of the Bwindi forest and beautiful landscapes. Being in mountainous countryside, the lodge harvests rainwater which is collected in large water tanks.

The main building is also sited on top of the hill, you will not only have incredible views but an abundance of clean fresh air directly from the forest. Activities from Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge include; the Rushaga forest walks, Pygmy (Batwa) Cultural trail and Golden monkey walk, Community walk, Bat tracking, Three horned chameleon tracking, Nature walk up to the Rushaga fall, Birding, and Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi.

Notes:

* Cultural Community entertainment at the Lodge can be arranged upon request
* Prices are inclusive of the 18% Value Added Tax but exclusive of Gorilla permits or any other fees
* Birthday cakes are provided at a Standard charge of 20 US Dollars with entertainment from the staff
* For honeymooners, a complimentary basket of fruits is provided, and two glasses of wine for each couple if notified in time
* Full board arrangement includes – breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus bottled water in the rooms but does not include soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, or any item that is not on the day’s menu

Children Rates:

* Children aged 15 and over will be charged at adult rates
* Children below 5 years of age are accommodated free of charge
* Babysitting services are available at the lodge at a low extra cost
* Children from the age of 6 to 14 pay 50% of the adult rate if sharing with parents
