Ilkeliani Camp Masai Mara

Ilkeliani Camp is an eco-friendly permanent tented camp located in the Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp is situated on the Talek River and is 4 km from the Talek Gate. The area is a favorite for elephants coming to drink from the Talek River.

The Masai Mara is 250 km from Nairobi, and driving time takes about 4 hours. Scheduled flights land at either Olkiombo, Mara North Airstrip, or Musiara airstrip. The closest Airstrip is Olkiombo which is 25 minutes away from the camp.

Ilkeliani Camp Masai Mara has 17 tents all designed to combine the old traditional safari style with a modern style. Each well-equipped tents are stylish, spacious, and comfortable with attractive furnishings, an electronic safe, a verandah with a day bed and canvas safari chairs, and an en suite bathroom with flush toilets and hot water showers.

The tents are raised from the banks on wooden decks, offering better views of the river and the plains beyond. The public areas are spacious and open-plan, with split-level floors and a high roof. This gives more shaded areas, additional secluded spaces, and more attractive views, maximizing the breeze and keeping the whole area cool and pleasant.

Each well-equipped tents are stylish with an en suite bathroom. They are sited under their own cluster of shady indigenous trees and you do feel that you are out in the wilderness.

All meals are prepared by Ilkeliani’s camp chefs, offering hearty breakfasts, alfresco lunches, and candlelight dinners in the mess tent. Picnic breakfast/ lunches are prepared if you prefer to stay out and explore the reserve all day long.

A campfire is lit from 1800 Hours onwards and the safari experience is shared with fellow guests while enjoying a “tusker”/drinks. Biting is served with Sun-downer. There is a bar lounge with a view deck.

Ilkeliani Camp Masai Mara activities include; sightseeing, game drives, riverfront dining, nature and cultural walks, sun-downers by a campfire, air balloon safaris, and village visits.
