Ishara Masai Mara Camp

Ishara Masai Mara Camp is a luxurious safari-tented camp built along the Talek River at the heart of the Masai Mara in Kenya. The safari camp is an hour’s flight from Wilson airport to Masai Mara’s Olkiombo airstrip and a short 5km transfer drive to Ishara camp. Ishara Camp is 262 km away from Nairobi (about 5 hours by road from Nairobi) through the Sekenani gate of the Masai Mara. The camp has a Starbed, 2 Family Suites, 4  Safari Suites, and 9 River Suites all tucked in the bush facing the savannah or the Talek River. Accommodation includes all meals, beverages, premium spirits, and wines on a full-board basis. 

Ishara Camp activities a Hot Air Balloon Safari, photo safaris, visiting a Maasai Village Cultural village, shooting and editing sessions, photography classes and tutorials, a Starbed experience – a spectacular evening beneath the African night sky, safari game drives, swimming in the infinity pool, birdwatching, and nature walks around the camp, spear throwing, traditional beading, medicinal plants of the Mara, bird, and animal species identification.

 The camp has two spectacular elevated bridges at the center point of the property. They guide you through breathtaking scenery and breathtaking experiences, uniting individuals from all walks of life to make lifelong memories in Maasai Mara. 

The location is easily accessible by road or by air — only 262km from Nairobi by car or a short flight to Mara’s Olkiombo airstrip, which is just 5km away.

Your adventure starts upon arrival with your personal guide meeting you at the airstrip or at Sekenani Gate. There are a total of 15 rooms, including 9 River Suites, 2 Family Suites, 4 Safari Suites, and a Star-bed.

The camp’s Safari Suites are tucked in the bush facing the savannah while the river suites and family suites are nestled along the river. For an incredible night under the stars, Ishara offers the first Star-bed in the Masai Mara. In between game drives, you can lounge in the infinity swimming pool or enjoy a glorious wine bath at the Aya Spa.

Ishara is a photographer’s haven and has the first Canon Studio in the Mara that comes complete with cameras, lenses, binoculars, and a resident pro to make sure you have spectacular photos of your safari.

Why Ishara Masai Mara Kenya is Special: Besides a luxurious camping experience, Ishara is a beautiful tale of redefined tourism. This luxurious establishment produces its supplies grown in beautifully designed towers within the vicinity bordering an indigenous forest.

The camp has 36 aeroponic towers, each with 44 pods that support 1,584 plants every month. That translate to at least 200 kgs of fresh vegetables including cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, herbs, celery, and pepper. The vegetables are organically grown making them safe and flavourful.

One of the packages as a guest in this luxury-tented safari camp is a tour of these towers. They can pick all fresh vegetables and designate a chef to prepare a special salad for them.

Ishara Mara Camp Kenya has a strategic observation deck at the camp’s southernmost tip. There’s a wildlife waterhole in the shape of an oval below. In spite of seasonal weather conditions, the waterhole has a thriving micro-ecosystem that sustains life and provides drinking water for wildlife throughout the year.
